Lovely place! Nice walks through the woods and around the reservoir. There is a small museum, shop, cafe and toilet facilities. The cafe sells a lovely selection of cakes and ice cream and you can also buy sourdough bread here. There are a few picnic tables if you prefer to bring your own food. Parking is pay and display but fairly cheap £1 per hour or £3.40 for the day. A nice afternoon out!

We arrived at the public car park located around 200 metres away, £3 for the day.

There is a little park for under 8s and an outdoor table tennis table with equipment, the mill is very well looked after and quite educational, the walk around the reservoir is excellent, well maintained paths and walkways, lots to see all the way around and there is access to the trans pennine way if you want a long bike ride.

All this is free, we left a £5 donation to keep the mill maintained.

The cafe serves stone baked Pizzas made from scratch baked with flour from the mill (£8-9 each) and they were very tasty (pepperoni for me and barbecue pulled pork for my son), Ice cream was £2.50 in a cone.

There was a lovely selection of home made cakes, we didn't have one but we're very tempted.

All in all its 5* and we will be back 100%

An absolute gem of a place to visit! Brilliant for young and old. The cafe is well equipped and the use of the home made sourdough in the food is awesome! The mill is well signed as to what things do and the museum staff are knowledgeable, friendly and informative. The toilets were clean and accessible. My little man had a great time in the play park while we played table tennis. The walk around the reservoir is great for kiddos with plenty of information boards for them to find and look at. We will be back!

Nice walk round, officially labelled as suitable for prams or wheelchairs, but some of the pathways end up being quite steep so be careful if anyone in you group isn't steady on their feet. Cafe was a nice beak at the end of the walk. but it's clearly quite popular as all the benches outside fill up quickly.

interesting place to visit, gives you a good idea of the process of milling flour. The Mill is still water powered and in excellent condition. Nice walk around the reservoir when the weather is good. also has a little shop attached.
