Wedding Venue Review
We got married here in August 2024 and could not have been happier with our venue choice. We are so grateful to George and all the Woolton farm team for going above and beyond in all the planning phases and of course on the big day itself.
There is so much flexibility with the venue meaning you can really make the day however works best for you! We chose to have our whole day here, including our wedding ceremony. I believe we were one of the first couples to do this, but you wouldn’t have known with how smoothly everything ran. George even went so far as to tell the bridesmaids when to come out at specific timings as I wanted to walk down the aisle at a particular part of the song 😂 Our timings were perfected after our rehearsal the day before, during which George was on hand for any last minute questions. We really appreciated all the time we had for setting up as it would not have been possible on the day itself.
We choose to use Tayberry for catering for our wedding breakfast who were also excellent and are located just across the car park and Maypole Marquees who are also handily located on site. George also had a great relationship with them and so was able to liaise directly with them during prep and on the day. For our evening food we got pizzas directly from Woolton and they received a lot of compliments! I got ready at the pretty prep studio, just around the corner, so you really do have everything you need close by.
The barn itself and the grounds are beautiful and if you’re thinking of booking, I’d definitely recommend going to see it during one of their events, as it gives you a real sense of how fun the evening will be! We also loved the offering of the local cider and wine and purchased a few kegs as pour your own pint welcome drinks which went down well with everyone.
On the day, George and the team handled everything without having to come to us which made us feel like we could relax after all the planning and just enjoy ourselves.
There truly isn’t anything about the day we would change and we wish we could just relive it!
Overall, the best parts about this venue in our opinion are the affordability, the opportunity for flexibility, the beautiful barn and grounds and the amazing team. Thanks for everything guys! We look forward to coming back in summer and reminiscing over a pizza and cider ❤️

What a fantastic place. The cider is delicious, the staff are knowledgeable and welcoming, and the pizza is top drawer. I could have happily spent the whole day here, sitting in the sun and drinking High Diver (which is the crispest and most refreshing cider I’ve tasted). Go if you can.

Liked: Lovely surroundings for the camping field and the barn was very rustic which was nice. Staff in the barn were polite but a little bit disorganised.

Great to hear the noises from howletts zoo in the morning as well, made it feel a bit more like a safari!

Disliked: Got there and gent I spoke to wasn’t a fan of pitchup which immediately didn’t fill me with confidence. Was given slightly vague direction to where I needed to go rather than being shown, I guess he was understaffed which I can understand. Was told I could unload my belongings onto a wheel barrow to trudge to the other end of the field (we were the only campers in it), but when we got there the wheelbarrow wasn’t there. Unpacked our belongings and setup the tent and then had a Quick Look in the camp kitchen, which wasn’t particularly clean and the bins were full. Tried to use the toilet but they and the showers were locked so had to go all the way back to reception to ask for them to be opened.
Staff member kindly organised the wheel barrow and someone to clean the kitchen and empty the bins. Went to use the shower but the one they had unlocked had no water supply so had to ask the boy emptying the bins if he could sort it out, which received a bit of a sarcastic response which I wasn’t best pleased about.

It seems to me the place is catered more for the upper middle class with money for the “glamping” rather than the rest of us bringing our own tents and being left to fend for ourselves. Maybe they need to just plain focus on the glamping or make an actual effort for the standard camping as well rather than it being half assed and pushed to the side?!

Liked: Location is fantastic, food and drinks from the barn are great.

Disliked: The beds need some attention!! Other glamping set ups have much better beds, this wasn’t much better than pitching your own tent and sleeping on a very thin camping mattress. It was a shame as all the bedding was lovely. Our friends have since stayed and said the exact same thing.

The setting at Woolton Farm is stunning, the cider was excellent and we were warmly welcomed by the person working at the bar. However, similar to another reviewer’s experience, we were spoken to very rudely by a lady who I believe is the owner. If families with children are not welcome, especially if the children might want to leave their table, this should be clearly stated at the entrance before any drinks are purchased. This was the most uncomfortable experience I’ve had visiting a place with my family.

We had an amazing time, really nice food and drink (including soft drinks for the kids) and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend to anyone, small or large groups - plenty of space in doors and out. They allow dogs too!

We visit Woolton Farm on a regular basis. It’s a stunning setting, and we find it so family friendly. Our two young children can run around, let off some steam without us worrying about them getting into trouble! We love it so much that we had our daughter’s christening party at Woolton Farm.
The staff there are always super friendly and helpful. George and his team are so lovely with our children and make us so welcome every time we visit! Can’t recommend this spot (or the drinks!) enough!

A fabulous couple of hours cider tasting and touring the farm. I thoroughly recommend a visit for a most enjoyable day out. This was a birthday present and it did nt disappoint. Many thanks to the staff, Jack for going the extra mile and also to Howard and Del. ( The location is absolutely gorgeous and needs better sign -posting - it would make a great craft village in some of those buildings - just love it 😁)
