Hidden away cafe in Whitstable just behind the beach. We found a shade table at the front and had two English breakfast and tea.We got the tea straight away but waited a while for the breakfasts as I think they were pretty busy. Worth the wait though. The creamy mushrooms were very nice.

£10 'Full Vegan'

Poor value for money in my opinion.

You get, 1 vegan sausage that's very thin, a small portion of beans, hummus (the red stuff on the plate in the photo I uploaded) that's not actually hummus as far as I'm aware, I was told it's 'beetroot flavour'...no idea what it's made from and it tastes a bit sweet.
This isn't written in the menu.. That the hummus is something else entirely. I was expecting normal hummus. In the menu it just says, hummus. Kinda misleading imo. Menu needs changing so it specifies what exactly you're buying. So it should state exactly what this 'hummus' is

1 tomato, half an avocado with nothing added to it, no lime, no nothing, and spinach, with a few what I think are sweet potatoes and aubergine.

1 slice of toast that tastes like bread that's not very good.

Toast and beans were only lukewarm.

Veg cooked well, with a few pieces bit undercooked.

Staff seem fine. I wasn't in there for long and my pretty waitress's interaction with me was short and to the point. I was seated facing away from the counter rather than towards, where the staff are.... I could go into why that is, but Google probably won't like it. I'll just say LMS, for those that know... And I'll add only when money is being received/benefit gained is a pretty female 'polite' to a male she deems not good looking.
But of course she'll keep interaction to a minimum.
Reminds me also of why dining places seat physically attractive people in restaurants at window seats... It draws people in. Good looking people are associated with all kinds of positive traits and makes a place look more upscale depending on how attractive they are. Think supermodel sitting having breakfast in a Parisian cafe in Paris, seated at a window with her supermodel boyfriend both with burberry trench coats.

Very little space between my seat and the counter. I had to move forward a bit as people were finding it hard to get past. Just the way this place is. No fault of the owners. They need to maximise seating capacity obviously.

Its fairly cramped inside, with minimal space between you and other customers, but decorated nicely and seemed clean. There's a nice looking 'chest of drawers' which for some reason reminds me of the Harry Potter wand shop.

The veg was the highlight, with everything else not great.

The 'hummus' was terrible. Wouldn't recommend. I'm not vegan, but I have food intolerances which is why I went for this option. In retrospect I should have asked if I could create my own breakfast dish for the same price.

Wouldn't recommend the vegan sausage. The meat sausage is likely far far better tasting and probably packs more calories. Which as a male I need.

No idea if there's toilets or not, as I didn't need to go.

Tomato cooked very well. I find most places never cook tomatoes properly and leave them cold and raw in the middle. They nailed it here.

I can understand why it's £10 due to the veg and the weird 'hummus' which I wish was normal hummus, but for the money, you'll find far more calories, more food just down the road, down town. At some places for £11 you get a coffee included too.

Also toast is £2.00. It's probably a single slice? That money, or maybe 50p more will get you a full loaf of bread from town from a bakery.
This however tasted like generic but not very good supermarket bread.
I just think £2 is far too much for a single slice of toast, of which the bread isn't good.

Overall, the veg is great, everything else wasn't.
Decor nice, but you go to eat food. That's what matters.

There's a selection of drinks, and a small dining area at the back.

Cake selection was poor, with only about 3 to 4 different types of cake. Though I didn't buy any so I can't comment on the cakes.

Rest of the menu not appealing with the lunch menu being only soup or sandwiches with crisps. And none of the sandwich options sounded appealing to me personally.

Had high hopes seeing the positive reviews. Was a let down.

I might try this place one more time asking if I can customise the breakfast, because it does seem good quality food.

We had breakfast here twice within 4 days. The service is very good and food was reasonably priced. We tried the Vegan Breakfast, Veggie Breakfast, Meaty Breakfast and and also the Kid’s Breakfast. They creamy mushroom in the veggie option was very tasty and so was the butternut squash stir fry with spinach. We were also impressed by the quality of the croissant which was rich and buttery. Would go back there if we visited the area again.

Gorgeous little cafe and convenience store right by the beach. There's no view of the sea but you don't need it as it's decorated so nicely. Dine inside or out the front and people watch through the window, or get takeaway and sit on the beach (remembering to bring your rubbish back, or home, with you if the bins on the beach are full) - will continue to come back here time and time again! Dog friendly 🐕✌️

Overpriced sandwiches for £7 for just bacon and tomato (without egg) and unhelpful and inexperienced staff. Very unhappy with the experience. I would rather avoid it on Sunday mornings

Really nice and cozy place! Lovely atmosphere and nice staff. Nice desserts, good coffee but to give you five stars you need to make me better hot chocolate next time! But it definitly worth to visit this place.
