Shocking customer service! Bought pack of 8 royal icing sugars. All were made up & all were thrown due to overwhelming acidic smell/taste. Contacted Whitworths & received prompt reply stating issue passed on to tech dept. No further contact received. Emailed another part of company who passed message on & finally received reply stating citric acid is used in production and no abnormal or unusual tastes were identified for the batch number. Given discount code to repurchase but found out had to pay p&p again! Requested full refund as very unhappy & surprise surprise no reply received!! I AM NOT STUPID - HAVE USED SO MUCH ROYAL ICING SUGAR OVER YEARS BUT NEVER SMELT/TASTED ANYTHING LIKE THIS - TOTALLY INEDIBLE!!

Their 1kg bags are consistently 840ish grams of sugar...NEVER 1000g!

Seems a hangover from 2lbs bags!

No idea what is in this sugar....but it's nothing like Tate and lyle it has a plastic consistency when melted and it is awkward to work with....what is in this sugar
