Did the cheese making session as a family of 7. It was very informative and interesting. Great cheese samples. We then ate in the restaurant which was inexpensive. Excellent food. I can highly recommend the steak and ale pie.

We visited Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre and ended up learning more about cheese than we ever expected. Our guide Martin was a true cheese enthusiast and made the whole process really interesting. The setup with cameras was great—you get a clear view of everything.

The cheese tasting was fantastic—we tried everything they make. The restaurant, though, didn’t quite hit the mark. The food was a bit dry and not as exciting as we hoped. But the staff were super friendly, which made up for it.

The views are stunning, and the atmosphere alone is worth the visit.

Lovely day out. Interesting lots to see and learn about cheese making. Plenty of reference to Wallace and gromit and areas for children to discover. The cafe, restaurant and gift shop were all well kept, clean and inviting. Bathrooms available again all nice and clean. I bought the fruit cake and ginger version of the Wensleydale as it tasted the best to me, even if it sounds strange. Entrance was really cheap as my children were free. Quite far out to drive to, but the countryside scenery was beautiful so it didn’t matter.

If only I could give Wensleydale Creamery more stars!

We had a super few hours here, a great place to visit. So interesting.

Started with the demonstration (Yorkshire Wensleydale Experience), enthusiastic staff keeping you engaged about process of cheese making and the history through the years. You are able to go on after to see the factory floor where the magic happens at the viewing gallery and also, get to taste the varieties of cheese too (The Taste of Yorkshire). No need to rush either there is plenty on offer, they wont run out!

There is a wonderful restaurant and again, we couldn't fault it. Quality food and really helpful staff.... easy on the pocket too.

It's a busy place, testament to the standard of this attraction / working creamery.

This is the place where local does local extremely well!

*Tip - If it rains get there quick, it'll fill quicker than a milk tanker!

We went to the Creamery and had a great time. The cheese & butter making demonstrations run every day and it is well worth it to see some cheese being made by a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic member of the team. We loved the cheese tasting room too which was spotless and with so many cheeses to taste, we now feel like we have at least a cursory experience of the numerous cheeses available.
In short, a great place to visit and I would say a must for anyone visiting the area. You won’t be disappointed. Wallace and Gromit are fun too and we loved the ‘cheese walk’ where you go through an informative gallery/ museum culminating in a chance to see the cheese being made too.
Excellent and very well worth a visit so go and take the family, the children will love it too! Thank you and enjoy your holiday in the area too, outstanding all round!

An absolutely brilliant afternoon

The cheesey afternoon tea is cheesetastic but the staff at this place are so so lovely, kind , caring and eager to help you enjoy your day.

We couldn't finish it off in one go so toddled off to the demo for a quick break

The cheese making demonstration was superb, full of humour , facts and of of course the practicalities of turning 8 pints of milk into one Wensleydale cheese. Not the original, you have to try the Kit Calvert version for that! ( see i was listening )

Then back for cheesecake and fruitcake topped with of course a lovely slab of 🧀

A massive 5 stars from us

Fantastic day out

Congratulations to all the staff and good luck to the restaurant manager for her knee op tomorrow Jan 20 at 1230 💗

5 stars plus more !! Exceedingly good value !! We did the cheese making demonstration - superb. £11.90 for the two of us. Included the event was a 30 min talk/demonstration explaining how Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese is made (plenty of seating & live video coverage easy to see). Really well done, great chap thoroughly explaining it all. A view of the actual factory and the cheese being 'worked'. Cheese tasting - brilliant guy explaining about the different cheeses, where they are made etc. Lots of information boards, children's activities and play area. Parking free, no height restrictions. Then there's a gift shop, cafe and cheese shop. Again, very generous with the tasting. Toilets etc here too. We were really impressed. Tickets can be purchased up to 24 hrs before on their website, or pay at the centre. We were on the 10.15 tour, just 12 of us. The following tour looked extremely busy.

Restaurant was lovely, but we were turned away from the visitor centre after travelling over two hours and arriving at 14:10. Would be good if the opening hours and overview on Google/Apple maps reflected this or we would have known to come earlier.
