What a fantastic shop! I came into the shop yesterday and spoke with Ola (absolute credit to the company). Ola helped me find the right dog food for our little puppy who has been having severe stomach issues. I had been back and forth with the vets all month with no change and Lunas stomach seemed to get worse until yesterday when Ola provided me some excellent advice and suggested Luna might be allergic to chicken. I ended up buying your own brand of dog food and Luna is already better no more blood or stomach issues it’s a complete turn around. I am so greatlful to Ola for all of her amazing and friendly advice and can’t thank you enough for helping us! I will not buy our dog food from anywhere else now! Thanks again xx

I have used this shop every month since 2022. I always thought the price was worth the little extra for the high quality products this shop stocks. We moved our dog over to there own brand kibble (legend) last year as it was low cost and almost identical Ingredients to the food we were previously feeding. Our boy enjoyed both the Angus beef & Haddock flavour - both with sweet potato. My issues begun when the shop begun to phase out the haddock flavour back in July. We then decided to feed our dog the other flavour he enjoys - Angus beef. After a couple of days feeding from this new bag our dog stopped eating the food. We assumed this was stomach upset. I then - the same week purchased a birthday cake from store and realised before opening at home - it was almost 1 month past the expiry date. I contacted the shop to ask for a replacement & I was offered a refund and told they didn’t have any more birthday cakes 🤨 so would be a cash refund.

This encouraged me to check the date on the food to ensure it wasn’t past its best before date - and no date was found on the bag.

The following day my partner returned to store to purchase a small bag of the haddock food so we can safely switch my dogs food from this brand to another more reliable kibble. Unfortunately again my partner checked the bags in store and no date was on any of the Legend 2kg bags. As a result he left the store and had contacted me to inform me.

We had no choice but to switch food brands to an alternative food without transition because of this. We then tried to feed the legends food we had to various visiting dogs who all turned there nose up at the kibble, this food was stored in an airtight container for 1 week only… and not one dog would take the kibble.

We now believe this food was off & this is why our very hungry greedy dog and his friends (who are also fed legends) have refused this food.

We will now no longer be purchasing products from this store and have changed our dogs kibble to a grain free salmon alternative, with very similar ingredients by Barking Heads.

I was in two minds wether or not to post this review as I am not one to leave negative feedback at a place I have shopped for years, but when asking a young member of staff why this food doesn't have a best before date they told me “dog food very rarely goes out of date” .

The owners may be clued up pet nutritionists but I can assure you the young staff they have working really aren’t. If these guys are in charge of rotating stock - I’m not surprised my dog ended up with off food.
PLEASE CHECK ALL DATES AND EXPIRY ON PRODUCTS FROM THIS STORE BEFORE PURCHASE.

I’d also encourage management to check dates on your shelf’s too. This could have ended very differently as out of date fish can have deadly consequences.

I also tried to research your own brand kibble and unfortunately there is no information on this food out there except from the brief packet description, I wonder if anyone else has experienced the same issues.
