Market day but we popped in for takeaway coffee which was available downstairs(thankfully because there was a queue upstairs) . We also picked up beef stroganoff, pecan pie, hot chocolate and chocolate orange brownie. All of which were excellent real food. It came to £27 which we thought was reasonable..

Went here today whilst staying nearby.
The queue was BAD, took us 40 minutes to get a table. After such a wait, we were expecting more tbh.
The food was OK, nothing to rave about. It's not cheap either for what you get.
The place lacks atmosphere as well, we were sat towards the front of the house upstairs and it was a little dark for my liking and could have had some better decor or accessories to create a country feel ambience.
Give the place a try to make your own mind up. it's not for us.

Food was delicious, we had two of the specials; the French onion grilled cheese and the American pancakes with plum compote. Highly recommend them both.

The staff were friendly and accommodating. Dog friendly as well which is a bonus on a rainy day.

Sat outside, to enjoy some rare sunshine. Service and food we're excellent. The Yorkshire platter was top quality (ham especially), and just the tight size to fill (and leave a little room for a cake).

Freshly roasted and freshly grounded coffee only can give such a wonderful creamy espresso. The scone and cream are also superb. Steak sandwich looks delicious. The place also has delicatessen at ground floor.

Well what a disappointment .
First the waitress could not smile and was s little unpleasant .
After we ordered we spotted the daily specials , it would have been nice to be notified they had special dishes of the day .
The meat pie was overcooked and the chips undercooked .
The pork pie was just ok .
The only saving grace was the young manager was very understanding and removed on meal from the bill .

Great little café with such a wide variety of menu options. We came today to have a birthday brunch and it was all quite delicious. I had the "smaller" full English (although still very substantial as it turns out!) and my husband had the special eggs Royale. Both were delicious. I was going to have a fried egg with my full English until I noticed the lady sat next to us having the most creamy looking scrambled egg so went for that and was very glad I had done as mine was beautifully creamy too. Great food and great service, hopefully we'll get chance to come back whenever we're next in Beverley as the rest of the menu was just as tempting!

Very popular cafe/delicatessen with good reason ... It's excellent quality 👍
The cafe is upstairs so elderly or disabled may find the staircase a bit much.
