Recently returned from a very relaxing stay at Uplands House. Poppy was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed a delicious supper on our first evening cooked by Poppy who joined us. Poppy is a great hostess and a superb conversationalist and we thoroughly enjoyed hearing about her fascinating life as an international fencer. |Poppy recommended and booked restaurants on other nights of our stay. Our room was spacious and comfortable with views over the garden and beyond. Thanks must go to Graham for the delicious breakfasts.

Poppy is an amazing host who welcomes you like one of the family. If you can, request Poppy's delicious 3-course home cooked British dinners, including cheesy potato dauphinoise and fresh local vegetables with many straight from the garden. Rooms are comfortable and the grounds have many flowers and plants. It's also quite private off the main road giving you peace and quiet and obviously close to the Cotswolds.

Another fantastic stay with Poppy and Graham, Uplands House is our go-to place to stay when we are in the area. It’s a beautiful period house full of character and the gardens are beautiful at this time of year too. Poppy and Graham couldn’t be more accommodating hosts and the dinner is always an absolute treat (I very much recommend that you have dinner here rather than at a local pub).

I had a very brief one night stay at Uplands House and I must say that Poppy, the hostess, could not have been more helpful. I had tea and cake upon arrival and when I mentioned that I was meeting colleagues at a nearby hotel, without hesitation she offered to drive me there. A very welcoming and interesting couple for whom it seems nothing is too much trouble.

We had the most wonderful three days at Uplands House. Poppy was a wonderful and kind hostess from the minute that we arrived. We had a warm welcome into Poppy's beautiful home. We were greeted with tea and cake in the lounge where we discussed our dinner requirements. We had a beautiful room with a four poster bed and Uplands was so quiet and very relaxing. We had the most enjoying and delicious dinner with Poppy, where we enjoyed a fabulous fig, feta and tomato starter, seabass, ratatouille and potato dauphinoise finished off with apple crumble and homemade ice cream. We enjoyed hearing about Poppy's interesting life and she was full of wisdom and an attentive listener. She was a really great hostess. Poppy is great with local recommendations and places to visit and eat. We enjoyed a filling and hearty breakfast both days and particularly enjoyed Poppy's homemade jams and tour of her garden. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we are looking forward to returning soon.

Travelling to Edge Hill for a wedding we stayed at Uplands House for 2 nights.|Our host, Poppy, welcomed us with open arms and made us feel “at home” for the duration of our stay. We stayed in a beautiful room with 4 poster bed and a big en suite bathroom.|Poppy prepared a wonderful dinner for us on the first evening when the brides parents joined us. Once again she was the perfect host, joining us for dinner when we all regaled many stories.|Breakfasts were a real treat, perfectly prepared and finished off with a large selection of Poppy’s home made jams and marmalade.|We would highly recommend Uplands House either for a one night stay if passing through or for longer if visiting the Cotswolds

From the warm welcome to the excellent home cooked food from their own organic garden, Poppy and Graham were wonderful hosts making for a truly special stay. Our room was very comfortable and cosy even a glass of sherry! It's a lovely part of the country and we are looking forward to staying again.

We stayed at Uplands due to its perfect location near NTUpton house as part of my husbands birthday treat . We were not disappointed . It is unique and homely . Poppy is the perfect hostess & sitting as you found a family around a big table at meal times enables you to enjoy the other guests company & make new friends . The food is excellent . Loved the pre dinner drinks . Along with cake & tea on arrival whilst discussing the evening menu. ||Poppy & Graham make you feel very welcome . ||The house and gardens are lovely & we thoroughly enjoyed our stay .
