Liked: Stayed in the Bell Tent on site, good that it was already set up and with internal matting - and very spacious for the two of us. Quiet rural setting for the campsite in the countryside. Small site with not too many pitches. Owner was helpful and very kind to us as we had travelled by bike with limited gear. Good firepit available on blocks and wood/ logs and firelighters available to buy on site which is a good idea. Washing facilities were clean.

Liked: The owners are so lovely, it was my first time camping alone and they were brilliant! Pub is half a mile away, location is quiet and peaceful. Camp site is basic (exactly as advertised) but has 2 portaloos and a porta-shower which was hot and powerful and very clean so perfect! If I could give it 6 stars I could 😀

Disliked: Nothing to dislike

Liked: Such a beautiful & peaceful location. The bell tent was perfect for my trip and the camping field is adjacent to the owner's home.
I was very warmly welcomed by the lovely host Sam. I felt very safe and relaxed. The shower is spotless, as are the toilets & the cold water washing-up facilities.
As this is a rural location, do bear in mind the network signal is low & intermittent.
I look forward to returning with my family.

Liked: The camping field is in a beautiful setting surrounded by trees. It's 5 minutes drive off the main road through Dronfield so it's easy to get to but also quiet. I arrived to a ready pitched bell tent that was clean and spacious. The facilities included portaloos, outdoor sink for washing up and hot shower, all immaculately maintained. There was a fire pit available and you could buy wood from the campsite. The bell tent also comes with a wooden picnic bench so you don't necessarily need to bring chairs and a table.

Liked: A gently sloping meadow with 6 generous plots and 2 bell tents around the perimeter. There are 2 very clean 'festival' type portaloos, but used by a handful of people rather than thousands, a washing/washing up station with cold running water and a warm shower, from which you can take warm water for washing up. Also a drinking water supply and a variety of bins. So a lot less 'basic' than other, more expensive 'basic' sites we have stayed on.
It is a working farm with associated farm activities and noises during the day, but these are not intrusive, and the whole experience is one of tranquility and immersion in nature. Until our grandkids arrived for a visit anyway! There is a good variety of birdlife around the farm, from wrens to buzzards, and different owls hunting in the night.
There is a footpath from the farm entrance that runs about half a mile to the Royal Oak, which offers friendly service, good food and well kept beer at prices that will make southerners smile. We didn't try the walks from the site in different directions, but there are many options.
The views are very pastoral and relaxing, and the icing on the cake of this gem of a site is Sam the owner, and her welcoming, laid back, friendly personality. We'll be back!

Disliked: Having to go home!

Liked: What a gorgeous, quiet site in beautiful countryside only a 20 minute drive from our front door! Lovely big pitches, and clean, simple facilities. The shower is awesome, and I've never seen such pristine portaloos! Sam, the site owner, is friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed the peace, listening to the birds and the cows in the next field.

Disliked: The weather was awful and we had to leave early in order to pack our bell tent down dry! But we can't blame the site for that. We barely got any service on our phones either so did feel a bit out of touch. Again, not the site's fault.
