Imke and her team catered for our son’s wedding in Noahs Pond near Frome. From the moment our son signed a contract with her she was incredibly helpful and quite obviously a ‘can-do’ problem solver and on several occasions during the run up to the big day she and her team made useful suggestions and circumnavigated problems in a most professional way.
On the day itself, the whole team came together and produced the most fabulous feast. They worked continuously and quietly in the background but were more than willing to answer questions and talk about their cooking and the open fire was certainly a popular feature of the day.
The service provided by Imke and her staff was exemplary; nothing was too much
trouble and every request was greeted with a smile and dealt with instantly.
The food itself was innovative, flavoursome plentiful and beautifully presented; we had a huge number of positive comments from our guests.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Imke and Ubuntu and certainly hope that our paths will cross again. Thank you to all at Ubuntu for helping to make our son’s wedding celebration such a success.

Just incredible — such a wholesome and soulful dining experience. The lovely Imke cooked for our group of 10 on open fire at Campwell woods for a 30th celebration. She set a beautiful rustic tablescape and served up a seriously delicious 3-course meal using local, organic produce. We even got to enjoy leftovers the next day. It was genuinely the highlight of our trip and left us wanting more! Until next time Imke, thank you ☺️

Ubuntu Food catered at very short notice for my 60th birthday garden party. Imke, Lucy and the whole team were incredible and I would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for catering that is ethical, inspiring and delicious! As well as producing beautifully tasty food, the Ubuntu team are a delightful spectacle to watch and listen to as the local, seasonal food is slowly cooked on their open fire and they explain where all the ingredients have come from.
Imke was also really helpful in helping set up the space, sourcing tableware, marquee furniture and heating and providing beautiful decorations for our tent at no extra cost.
The Ubuntu team stayed for the whole meal, even though we provided our own cake as dessert, and their friendly staff helped with all the serving and clearing, leaving everything pristine.
This small collective seems to get the perfect balance between intimate, personal service, ethical and sustainable practices, and excellent quality. I am so glad we chose them for this special event.

Ubuntu Food

Another ‘special’ evening with Roots at Tuckers Meadow. The Ubuntu team work hard to make a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The food is prepared with fresh local ingredients. The first course of Artisan bread and farmhouse butter (you’ve never tasted butter like this before!) was followed by delicious smoked lamb, grilled vegetables , British quinoa, smoked tomato sauce and hazelnut dukkah. It was delicious ! The flavours were enhanced from cooking on the open fire and the spices Imke uses to prepare the food. The dessert of Apricot & Almond cake was light and moist. A perfect treat to end the meal. The combination great food, lovely people and eating in the setting of the allotments makes for a truly memorable evening.

I’ve been lucky enough to experience the amazing Ubuntu Food a few times but their pop-up at Kask Kitchen a couple of weeks ago has to be my best experience of their food to date. I was completely blown away by the incredible flavours, creativity and deliciousness in every bite (cauliflower sosatis were amazing!!). With most of their food cooked over fire, they create an amazing blend of smokey & fresh flavour that take the senses on a wild old journey! I really value the focus they put on sourcing from independent producers - it’s clear that they’ve put such care into building these relationships and supporting the local food system which is so important in the current climate. Thank you so much, can’t wait to try your food again in 2023! ❤️
