I'M NEVER GOING ANYWHERE ELSE!
What a fantastic selection of game meats, especially the steak and those pheasant and jalapeño sausages. WOW.
Was served by the owner Steven who is such a nice person and what a fantastic team they have.
Cut freshly prepared whilst I waited.
YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

The shop is easy to find and sign posted, it’s virtually opposite one of the gate entrances that Howletts staff/vehicles can use, the sign does say private road but you can obviously drive down the road if you’re looking for/purchasing game and poultry.

The venison burgers & Steaks are superb, I gave the wild bore and apple sausages to a colleague of mine, only had positive comments from them. It’s a well run family firm who care about what they offer, great value for money given the quality of the meat.
I’m looking forward to trying some of the wild whole birds and doing a Sunday roast with a plumb or cherry sauce in the coming Autumn. I’ll be back soon.

Superb butchers, we have had venison sausages - fantastic and Old Spot pork sausages- also fantastic.
We bought a boned rolled venison haunch for Christmas and it was wonderful. Firm, tasty and good value. Well worth the trip just outside canterbury, immediately opposite Howletts.

My first visit won't be the last! For a little while I was looking for rabbit and Indeed every year it was like a tradition in my family to make a Paella Valenciana. Recently I found again this recipe in my stuff "buried" for a while. The only trouble was to find rabbit around here. I never understand why there is so many rabbits running in the fields and no one in local butcher. I am so, so happy to have finally found some in this fantastic little shop! It was delicious and did wake up some good memories of childhood. I will definitely try other products as there is an amazing choice of meats and poultry!

Rang on the Monday and was told it was no problem to pick up 10 mallard in the feather later in week.
I messaged later in week to them to ask if it was ok to pick them up next day as discussed and was totally ignored.

These people are ignorant and wasted my time. There are better places to go for game or meat.
I most certainly do not recommend these individuals.

I gave them one star because I can't give them negative stars. I have been in their premises once and I bought some meat. The meat was good no problem with that.
Then I had the bright idea to have a game BBQ for my wife's birthday on Sunday the 10th. Called them on Monday 4th and talked to them about meat availability. I placed the order the next day (above £70, paid with paypal), expecting delivery before Sunday
.... what a big assumption that was !!! I kept calling them (almost every hour !!) from Wednesday to Saturday to find out what happened to the delivery but nobody will pick up the phone, I left messages, I send emails ... NOTHING !! no reply back whatsoever !!

At the end, on Saturday I had to send them a message canceling the order and the guests had to satisfy themselves with pork lamb and chicken instead of wild boar, venison and game poultry !! ... and I had to profusely and profoundly apologise to them for not having game meat as I promised !!!
Called them again on the 11th but still nobody will pick up the phone, so I open a claim with PayPal to get my money back. On the 14th I managed to get someone on the phone (that was 4 days AFTER my wife's birthday).
No apologies, no excuses about the non-delivery and the total silence from their side. He only said that he would like to return the money ... but I had open a claim with PayPal I told him that since I paid with PayPal I had to open a claim with them, all he had to do was to reply to that claim !!! It seems that they not only have no idea about customer service but they are a bit behind in their IT skills as well !!!

Bottom line, if you are passing by their premises and fancy some game meat go see that they have. If you are thinking of ordering through their web site ... DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT, their customer service is non-existent and they don't even bother to answer the phone.
