We attended Top Notch today for a scotch egg masterclass. We had a giggle over the eggcellent puns and tasted some delicious scotch eggs. We got to make and take home 2 eggs each.

What a fun 2 hours! Small shop near Beamish /Pelton in County Durham. We were bought the voucher for Christmas and attended a masterless yesterday making 2 scotch eggs to take home and eat but you also get to eat some professionally cooked ones too. Great atmosphere, fun, sociable time with other people. You could do this alone or great for couples or group of friends. Can’t thank the staff enough for making it a great experience and I’ll definitely be returning to buy some sweet scotch eggs as well as savoury for when I’m hosting an afternoon tea get together with family early May! You won’t buy them any cheaper than here at the actual source of where they are made.

Me and the Wife have been for the Master Class and made a couple of Scotch Eggs. Unbelievably delicious I have never had scotch eggs as beautiful made as this. So many flavour verities.
During the course we were allowed to go nuts with ingredients and try to make any combination.
The guy running it was super friendly and a joy to be around. Such a hard worker and cares so much for his product and customers.

Always worth a detour coz they are top notch.
It's a brilliant quirky shop with an amazing range of different scotch eggs. To avoid having to choose, I usually ask for whatever has just been cooked so the egg yolk is still semi runny, but they microwave well too.

A fun Scotch Egg making class.
Shown how to do it, with advice on flavourings we were then allowed to choose our own and make something to our own tastes.

Then we got to eat their demo versions.

Definitely worth a go if you like scotch eggs!

Just been and made scotch eggs for the first time. It's easy to do and they have an amazing atmosphere make it a relaxed and fun session. We walked away with two eggs each made to our own recipe from the huge array of ingredients available to choose from. Plus a couple of others from the large selection of pre made ones available. Will be back to sample the rest of the range in due course!

Both my wife and I had a scotch egg making masterclass... brilliant eggperience! Well worth the drive from Nottingham. Staff friendly, welcoming and entertaining... how many egg puns can there be!! Made two scotch eggs each with guidance from the pros... vast range of ingredients to create the eggs of your choice. In a word eggcellent!! ?
