The Cabin was amazing, facilities were modern and comfortable. Super clean room as was the bathroom. Location is excellent and remote. Log fire was AMAZING. We have already booked for Feb again! The host was also very helpful and kind enough to let us have a late check out last minute. Overall highly recommended.

We had a lovely stay Nov 2024 in the cosy cabin, the place is absolutely perfect and great location to explore from. Cooking our food on the little log burner and the very friendly cat were highlights.

Can not speak highly enough of this place, would love to return soon. Many thanks for accommodating us.

Claire and Alex have a peace of heaven on earth in this beautiful spot in the Lake District . If you’re looking to feel like you’re in a cabin in the woods away from the world to seek peace that is your place to go . This beautiful location is close but not to close to everything that is great about the Lake District . We saw a sky full of stars that was breath taking . Claire is so helpful with anything you need and looks after her guests perfectly . It’s our yearly trip that we dream about all year round 🙂 perfection . 1 million stars review .

The Cozy cabin was wonderful, it is small but perfect for us and wasn’t an issue.
It has everything you need and was great to have a bbq in the evening.
The location is wonderful and so peaceful, quiet and private.
We also had the company of 2 inquisitive cats.
Will definitely return.

A long birthday weekend was well spent in the stunning log cabin we stayed in! The views from the kitchen/living space was absolutely stunning, as well as the most comfiest bed I've ever slept on. Not to mention the largest roll top bath I have ever seen, absolutely perfect in the evenings when you can here the birds tweeting. Highly reccomend, there's a parking spot for you and noone bothers you during your stay, absolute privacy in the middle of the gorgeous countryside

Another lovely trip to Thornthwaite Farm, the third in three years and will be returning next year. The working farm is beautifully situated and affords lovely views. It is close to the southern lakes ideal for exploring and good fir visiting family in the Furness area. The cottages are nicely appointed and have excellent sound proofing essential when travelling with a 4 year old!
There's a good bakery and butchers in Broughton.
Ulverston has an Aldi and M and S food as well as the nice, but expensive Booths. Irving butchers in the town is really nice.
Barrow has all the large supermarkets.
