Good day out bit pricey beer wise ,could do with better security for the drinking louts

This is the second tome we have stayed at this site. I appreciate that the site is part of the race course and only managed by the Caravan and Motorhome club but it does fall short of some of the other sites in the club. The washing and showering facilities are old fashioned. My shower had no water pressure, a,though the water was very hot and plentiful. I was also disappointed that there were no recycling options available at the refuse area.|The site is located close to the town centre and to two supermarkets and that is a real bonus. The site is mainly flat and drains well.

This is a black mark for the Caravan and Motorhome Club. It’s a rally field with poor signage, grubby bathroom facilities and poor value for money. Not particularly helpful wardens and no security whatsoever - anyone can drive onto the site. Can understand why motor home owners love it - Lidl next door, Tesco over the road and easy walk to town. Personally pleased we have our own bathroom facilities because the ‘site’ ones are very disappointing. Stayed on better value and more welcoming certified locations

Vast improvements made to the racecourse since our last visit in 2022. New entrances revamped bars and toilets excellent. Will be returning more often now after experiencing the improvements.

Only grass pitches but the ground is very firm so no problem. The facilities are quite basic but extremely well maintained and immaculate. Lidl is next door and Tesco opposite. The town centre with it's lively market are about 10 mins walk. Great walks through the park by the church and along the river. Despite being in the town, it's fairly quiet after rush hour. We will definitely be back.

Very nice course, most areas apart from members open to everyone. Food slightly expensive £12.50 for a small box type with 3 fish bites and a few chips not good, this was from an online catering van.
