I found The Sussex Peasant a few years ago, and have been going to the weekly market in Ditchling on a Thursday ever since to pick up local seasonal produce. Things taste so much better if they are grown slowly and eaten at the right time of year.

Fantastic produce sold with bucket loads of friendliness and humour .
Have been supporting The Sussex Peasant at Queens Park’s Pepper Pot since it opened , and love it. It’s great knowing that all the meat and veg are locally sourced or grown and the flavours have never disappointed.
There’s also always something new to try such as cheeses , chutneys , delicatessen, and the like . Great addition to the community too!

Got a bottle of very fresh apple juice in St Ann's Gardens. Staff is very friendly and it made my day. Glad to have such Sussex local truck and would literally come to buy something again.

Going to the Sussex Peasant has become a highlight of my week! So much amazing produce I have been able to largely ditch the supermarket which has been a massive life upgrade. Couldn't recommend going enough.

We are devastated that The Sussex Peasant is no longer occupying the space it used to on Saturday mornings in Arundel. Can't praise them enough and definitely worth a visit in any of their locations for amazing local seasonal produce.

My twice weekly treat is to savour the fabulous flavours from Sussex Peasant’s hand picked range of fruit, veg, meat, cheese, cured fish, ice cream, bread, eggs, pastries and pickles. Seventy percent of the sale price goes to the producers and all stock is locally sourced. The loyal staff are super friendly and happy to chat about the seasonal goodies and their suppliers.

The produce is absolutely wonderful - fresh, tasty and, of course, seasonal. The staff are also friendly and enthusiastic. Apart from these benefits, I also love that we are trading and supporting local farm and market gardening businesses, and they are providing us with healthy, nutritious food.
