Stopped here on the way back from a walk.
Nice small café with seats inside and outside.

Friendly staff and a nice selection of treats.

I had a coffee frappe and my wife had a strawberry milkshake.
Both were very nice and we enjoyed sitting on the deck chairs in the sun drinking them.

We got some fruit scones to take away for later which were also really good. Nice taste and they didn't crumble when preparing them with cream and jam.

Will definitely stop here again when we are nearby.

A friend and I hired bikes from here.

Unfortunately, on the first day, a rim broke on the bike. We called John the owner. He was supportive and paid for a new wheel so that we could continue our ride. We did the C2C, and the bikes were perfect once the rim was fixed.

Johns communication was brilliant, and he was a true scholar.

The food and coffee here are also spot on. It is a lovel cafe and a fantastic business for everyone to use.

Thank you, rusty bike. I will be recommending you to friends.

Not so sure that I wanted to pay over £3 for a coffee…in a paper cup..,when sitting down. It was the only option available. We were told they don’t serve in cups or mugs. I’m not sure if it was the time of day, after 3pm, but was told by a friend that they were recently served their coffee there in a proper ceramic cup and saucer. Besides that the restaurant was clean and the ‘fat rascal’ very nice, though very different tasting to the more traditional ones at Betty’s or Thomas’!

Lovely cafe, great bike rental. John was so helpful and enthusiastic, he gave us a good deal as were a group and lots of helpful tips and routes. Such a great day, and delicious sausage rolls and coffees.

Little gem of a spot in Swainby - warm welcome, decent coffee and a few savoury and sweet vegan options with a couple of plant milks. Prices reasonable too. Great place for me to stop at when out on my motorcycle. Will be back. Thank you x
