80 mile round trip to the pack horse and I would do it again.
Can't fault the food atmosphere or service lovely lunch
Starters mains and desert all devoured
And all tasted lovely.
Very well presented on the plates too.

Get yourselves here immediately! Came here to celebrate a birthday and it's now #1 on my list of favourite dining experiences. It's a really cosy, friendly and atmospheric pub. The staff were attentive and just genuinely really lovely. The food was exceptional and everything blew our minds. Really good list of booze too - we fully dipped our bread with everything, but it doesn't have to be a dear do. We honestly cannot wait to return, we've already told our friends and family!!

Absolutely fantastic experience at The Pack Horse in Hayfield. Absolutely worth the drive to try the food here. Serving staff were very attentive, dishes came out quickly and Hayfield is perfect for a scenic walk before or after your meal. Will be coming back again when I have room for more

Thankfully my friend who I went with insisted in that we visited here. I didn't do any research or check the menu. Wow wow wow.

Totally amazed at the excellence of the full experience. Stunning and quaint inside, met with homely and warming service by everyone.

To then be presented with beautiful and exemplary food really surpassed expectations. I'm still thinking about some of the flavours and quality of the food.

An absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. The food was impeccable with fantastic flavours built delicately and served in good portions. The whole atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxed without being slapdash, which was helped by the service being on point but not pushy. I’d recommend this to anyone even remotely in the area, a true gem. I can’t wait to visit again.

Quite simply wow. The food and the level of service was just amazing.
We turned up a family of 4 and a dog. Welcomed and given just the perfect level of service by Gabby (Sorry it’s taken me a while to write the review). Her service was just second to none and really should be used in a training video it was that good.
The food is amazing so fresh and vibrant. We had pork and hazelnut terrine, bread and (lovage) butter, homemade chips and green beans with herb butter.
In short recommend and we would definitely go again if in the area and we plan to!
Only thing we regret is not borrowing a blanket ?.
