We stayed for the weekend at the Retro Festival. Festival was good, but the close proximity of the caravans and portable awnings and vehicles (one car, parked just 2 feet from our van),made this a real fire risk. Not sure if this was even legal. Water stand pipes few and far between, lots of lugging required. Needed 2 or 3 Water browsers really. Would not consider going to this event again for the weekend; maybe as a day visitor only.

Great County Show held once a year. Has a large range of exhibits from Animals to Tractors. Also a large selection of trade stands. The show includes a large Food and Craft Tents. The ground is well drained with permanent way paths so bad weather does not result in a mud bath.

I was exhibiting my poultry and eggs in the show. I didn't see anything except the poultry tent. I won the cup for the Best Eggs for 2nd year running and had a Champion chicken with a Speckled Sussex who won the Best Large Soft Feather Heavy.

A friend of mine went to the show with her pygmy goats. It was her first show and she was very pleased to win. She should have been given two Rossett and a trophy but she was told that they had run out of Rossett and they could not find her trophy.

A fanstastic show, we visit every year. Lots of see, tons of activities for the children and plenty of shopping for the adults. More than you can do and see in one day.

This is a very large show ground and arena primarily used for the Newbury Show. It has extensive facilities and car parking. Events here are well organised and managed.
