Been meaning to go for a while. Booked in for a saturday lunch, quiet when we got there but soon filled up.
Serving team were friendly and attentive . Prices were a little on the higher side but this reflected the quality of the food. Had the chicken pie which was lovely.
Enjoyed it so much that we've booked in again for boxing day lunch.

I can't believe it took me so long to visit The Mount, but I finally dined there last Saturday. First of all, a busy bar area as you enter giving a very friendly and happy atmosphere..Then a charming dining area to the rear, which was pleasantly busy for a cold day in January..On checking the menu, it was surprisingly inexpensive with a varied and interesting choice of food. A bottle of superb Chilean Merlot for around £25? Wow!! I had smoked salmon to start which was delicious. Then cod served on a bed of vegetables, perfectly cooked and tasty. Finally sticky toffee pudding which was tasty, light and with an amazing texture. Service throughout was both friendly and attentive. Times are tough in hospitality at the moment but every table was occupied . I think it speaks for itself!!! Well done Glynn Purnell. You have a terrific venue here. I thoroughly enjoyed my introduction to The Mount and can't wait to return very soon.

Made a reservation and seated next to a smelly toilet not a great start, had to move ourselves off further into the pub. Salmon starter generous and delicious beautiful with the pickles. Beef perfectly cooked and decent gravy. Roast potatoes hard as rocks, greens way over seasoned to the point of inedible, disappointing sides. Service was very slow, tried to overcharge us by £40 on the bill, when we pointed this out just a shrug no apology. In the end we paid £130 for 2 people having 2 drinks each. Way over priced for slightly above average pub grub

I note some of the few negative reviews but this is far from our positive experience. I went for a Sunday roast and everything was faultless. Staff were attentive and very confident to engage regarding the menu and in particular, allergies. Roast beef was perfect and the most tender I've experienced. Decor was sophisticated and relaxing. Would definitely book again.

I have finally been to The Mounts for Sunday lunch.

I’ve been looking forward to this for some time. It lived up to my expectations.
I wanted both the soup and the scotch egg. The scotch egg won, and I'm coming back to try the soup. For mains, we went with Pork, Lamb, & beef.
My beef was wonderful, and plenty of it.
My stepfather had the lamb. He said it melted in his mouth. The freshly made mint sauce was outstanding.
My mother had the pork, cooked perfectly with the best crackling.

The cauliflower & cheese was great. All the veg complemented the dishes.

I forgot to take a picture of the Scorch lemon margarita & Old-fashioned.

The drinks and service were perfect. Thank you to all the staff.

This was the second time I have been to the restaurant. The first time it has just opened and it was a little chaotic (understandable) - now it is super slick. The date night experience was really fun and the food was awesome! Would definitely go for the experience again.

Parking on the street can be tricky - so arrive with plenty of time.

Had a absolutely gorgeous meal and evening. Restaurant was very quiet which suited us tbh. Food OMG the chef needs a medal, was absolutely mouth watering.. Birthday treat, fitting way to end the day..

Splendid food overall save that the sticky toffee pudding was said to be on the dry side but the service was appalling so that all the good marks awarded for food lost on account therewith. When are we going to learn in this country that Service is as important as the food to be provided. It was not as if the restaurant was busy, anything but, which might explain the complete indifference exhibited by the staff. The ‘optional’ service charge was a deceit but
to refuse to pay would have denied the kitchen staff their just desserts.
Disappointing.
