The Mac's Farm Summer Campsite & Days out - Hassocks

We recently booked the Nest Box for a private party and it was perfect. Being able to use the outside space as well as the barn meant we were able to create the perfect chilled, summer feel party (we got very lucky with the weather). Everyone was so pleasantly surprised with how beautiful the barn is. The team - Pippa and Kelly were so helpful and friendly. We are so pleased we found you!

I really enjoyed our weekend stay with friends and their families. The place is very safe for children, big spaces between pitches which allows privacy and guarantees quiet time. We have been given a starter pack with wood for fireplace and marshmallows plus chicken feed. I loved the fact that meadows in between pitches are kept untouched, that made it look wild but organised at the same time. Washing facilities were ok, not the cleanest but everything that you needed was there plus 2 small fridges to your disposition. You can't drive into the field and there are wheelbarrows to unload your car, so you can carry everything to your pitch.
The only downside and that's why I'm giving 4 stars is because you have to take your rubbish home with you! There are NO bins on the premises. Personally I find it ridiculous. How can you expect people (after paying £45 per night) to take their rubbish home, especially when they already have a full car of camping gear. I really hope that next season this issue will be no more.

A great campsite in a lovely setting and well laid out. Lots for kids to do including the wild woods and chicken feeding. However we felt let down by all facilities closing at 4pm during the summer holidays and the “street” food from Mac’s Shack was pretty lack lustre. Street food isn’t just sandwiches and toasties and that’s about all they have to offer. The Nest Box should really stay open later even on weekday nights during the holidays as a place for families to hang out while the kids run around the field just felt like a big oversight. All in all owners are very friendly and chatty and the vibe on our last night with the campfire was fantastic.

A fantastic place. And I shall never buy eggs from anywhere else ever again. The grandson adored the farm bit. We bought a bag of chicken feed for 1.50 and he scattered the feed and the chickens clustered around. It was awesome.

Lovely campsite, great pitches plus plenty of car free space for the kids to explore. On site bar and food were good, as was the live music.

However onto the only negative - please, for the love of god, provide bins for rubbish!!! There is nothing 'eco' about making campers pack up warm smelly bin bags into their cars. I can't segregate waste from recycling in the back of a hatchback. How about setting up segregated recycling points and food waste composting? Much more environmentally friendly and the kids won't be gagging as I drive back round the M25.

Oh and freezers for cool blocks would be lovely too 🙂

Fantastic place to spend the day with kids. Explore different areas, lovely food and brilliant coffee! Wheelbarrows are great fun and the chickens are so happy ?

Im shooting a wedding here next year, im really looking forward to that. I pop in with my Granddaughter every now and again to see the chicken and give them a little feed. Great fun.
