Liked: Beautiful location. So peaceful and secluded.
The pitches were perfect for our campervan, and as it’s a small site we never felt ‘overloooked’ or crowded.
Location is great for exploring the local area. We walked to the Thatched Tavern in the evening for dinner which was lovely.
The toilet/shower facilities were great. Loved that they were essentially individual bathrooms. Which made it really easy with the little one.
We didn’t use the kitchen area but it looked well appointed.
Check in and check out was super easy.
Loved it. Will be back. And also will be recommending!

Liked: Hens Dens was an excellent experience for our family, the site is small (<10 pitches) and quiet - exactly what we were looking for. The facilities were excellent. Shower rooms were clean, warm and with plenty of room. Kitchen facilities were to the same standard and even had a shared fridge and washing machine. Owners were very welcoming and helpful both before and during \the visit. Location is well positioned to visit locations from Dawlish through to Brixham within 30 minutes drive. We had an awesome stay. The site itself is quite unique having each pitch merging into the orchard, this detail along with the other site aspects just shows how well thought through the site facilities were. It even included a games room which our little man enjoyed. The extra bonus is the little shop where you can pick up milk, milkshake, ice cream , yoghurts, fresh apple juice and fresh eggs - a very handy addition Would visit again without hesitation.

Really great location - we rent a 7.5m mobile home and we were able navigate our way (slowly) down to the farm. It's a really beautiful farm, well laid out, with a sink for washing dishes, the restrooms were clean and well constructed with showers. Would definitely stay there again. Jerry was very helpful with providing instructions. Only regret was that we didn't stay long enough to make to it the farm store on the property.

What a fabulous site! We arrived in the pouring rain so couldn't take advantage of all the facilities on offer but we'd love to come back to experience them again.
Having a toilet, shower and sink in one room like a bathroom was great. I wish more places did this.
The apple juice and eggs we bought were delicious.
Highly recommended.

Lovely couple of nights spent at the Hen’s Den! We stayed there in our vintage camper. Our pitch was of a good size and serviced by electricity. The facilities were excellent for the size of camp and wee extras left by the owners were very thoughtful. Only possible negatives were the early departure time (we just made it for 10am, but 11 or even 12 is more usual), the whirly gig needs bolting down (I found it lying down in the hedge!) and the pitches could really do with some surface gravel. We were lucky with the weather, but I wouldn’t like to see the inside of a van or tent if the dirt pitches got really wet!

Liked: This is a small and lovely site! With great views and setting and nice amenities. The toilets, showers and little outdoor kitchen was up area was all lovely. There is little shop and small games room which would be amazing to use if we’re there on a rainy day.
The pitches are small so you want to arrive with a massive tent! Although big tents did manage to squeeze in.
Also the ground is very hard! Which wasn’t a problem for us but something to be aware of with pegs and sleeping mats.
Disliked: We received our information pack a little bit late so didn’t bring some things we could have done with. That being said we are returning and now know what’s needed.

This is one of our family’s favourite campsites. It’s small, secluded, intimate and beautiful. The facilities are great and views and surroundings are beautiful.
There is lots of stuff for the kids to play with. Around the orchard and in the play lounge. So much has been considered without it being too managed.
But if you prefer spacious pitches and big grassy meadows this isn’t the right spot for you. The pitches are a squeeze.
We have stayed in both a pitch site with our 4 person tent and in the hens chicken dens which was super lovely. It’s not quite glamping and that’s what I liked about it. You are still very much camping but with added privacy. We will definitely be returning here again.

We spent two nights at this lovely site last week. Just 6 camping pitches with partial separation from the trees, so nice and quiet and relaxing. Toilets and showers were cleaned daily, and the shared kitchen facilities looked good (though we didn’t use these). It was a 20 minute walk into a lovely village with a fab pub and community shop, and about the same distance to Maidencombe beach. A really nice place to stay!
