This has to be one of our new favourite places to stay in the UK. We had our old Labrador with us and stayed in room 7, dog friendly, super king bed room, ground floor with private entrance. Extremely tastefully decorated, usb sockets, complimentary toiletries, bottled water and tea/coffee and biscuits. ||The room was well laid out and furnishings and bedding of high quality and very clean. The bed was sumptuous and so comfy. ||The food was exceptional and plentiful with a good choice on the menu and offering “specials”. Breakfast was also delicious which set us up for the day ?||The staff were amazing and are a credit to the owners. Came home feeling refreshed and very relaxed. We cannot wait to book again……very soon, thanks again, Jayne, Michael and Ben

This is fabulous place to stay. The staff are warm and friendly. The room was spacious with immaculate bathroom facilities. The breakfast was brilliant; we only had the small portion full English but it was more than enough and the evening meal selectionwasexcellent too. Finally, for those larger folk or disabled, then this is the place to stay. The dining room was easy for me to manoeuvre around with my walker. Can't wait to visit again in the new year.

What a beautiful place. Gorgeous scenery. Hotel was immaculate. Loads of lovely touches in the room like bottled Harrogate water, fully stocked coffee, tea and biscuits and everything you need in the bathroom. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, I’d opt for a smaller portion though next time as I couldn’t finish it. Staff were lovely and it felt like they enjoy working there. Can’t wait to go back and would love to stay longer, just me and a book

I only wish we could have stayed longer!
As soon as you arrive you feel instantly relaxed by the surroundings, the bar, restaurant and outdoor seating area are all great, super clean and nicely designed/decorated. The surrounding wildlife serves to set the perfect countryside setting. Dining with a view was a real treat. We enjoyed our dinner, wine and breakfast, all excellent quality. Staff were all friendly and happy.
The room was well-stocked with tea and coffee and Temple Spa toiletries.

Only niggles:
Room was too hot for a comfortable sleep
£5.20 surcharge for one cappuccino at breakfast is very steep

We will definitely return and it seems like a popular place for all sorts of visitors to the area.

If you want peace and quiet in the middle of nowhere, but still be about 20 mins ride to town, this is the place to be. Beautiful new rooms with a separate bathroom and toilet. The food, dinner as well as breakfast are delicious. Be warned though, the portions are huge! I loved the location, it has awesome views out of the dining room.

A wonderful hotel on the North Yorkshire moors. The room and the hotel are of a high standard with great service.
Our room had a very nice configuration to include bunk beds for the children. Everyone agreed the beds were the most comfortable they had ever slept in.
The grounds contained a good sized play area for the children and wondefuyand peaceful views of the sounding countryside.
The food was excellent, with breakfast included in the price.

The Grainary is a rural retreat which caters for your every need. Rooms are of a high standard with walk in rain shower in our room, complimentary toiletries, refreshments and snacks. A bar area is available with a range of drinks - Whitby gins are a recommendation. Evening meals from a small selection on the updated weekly menu with generous servings. Waiting staff provided suggestions and couldn’t have done more. This goes for the breakfast team who ensured that you were well catered for before setting off exploring the locality. Great location for anyone looking for that quiet dark sky gazing. This is a special venue which is worth a visit.

The staff are brilliant and friendly the rooms are spacious very clean and tidy food Is gorgeous loved everything I have had to eat
