Had an excellent time on the pork course. It was a great balance of teaching and hands on experience. We left with a much better understanding of meat cuts, where they come from, and we also took home lots of meat which we had butchered. Thoroughly recommended for anyone interested in where their meat comes from. Paul is clearly a purist when it comes to the provenance of his meat. That really showed in the shoulder of pork which we ate the following day.

Great day in a fantastic location. We did the lamb butchery course and as there are only a few people the course is very hands on so very interesting. It's great to start off with a full lamb carcass and end the day with all the cuts prepared. The breakfast and lunch were also great - would thoroughly recommend it.

Garlic Wood did the catering for our wedding earlier this year. We had a sit down afternoon tea (which was table service) followed by a hog roast in the evening (which was help yourself), and we could not recommend them highly enough.

Toby and Ilona were fantastic during the early planning stages and particularly in the lead up to the day (which was quite eventful for us as we had to change venues a week and a half before our wedding day!). They were very professional; they delivered exactly what we wanted and we always felt that we were in very safe hands. The food was pretty much the only part of the wedding that I was not worried about in the lead up to the day!

On the day itself, Toby and his team were the first people to arrive on site, were very efficient throughout and required next to no input from us. We had endless compliments on how fantastic the food was and they left the venue in an immaculate state when they had finished.

If you want a slightly more informal wedding reception without compromising on the quality of food and service, then these guys are exactly who you need!

I've completed the Pork and Lamb courses. They were both informative; hands-on and the right balance of relaxed to educational.
I would thoroughly recommend the courses to anyone who wants to learn some butchery skills.
I'm now looking forward to attending a sausage making event.

The butchery course is a fun day of learning, eating and meeting new people! Anyone interested in food will love this and a great thing for children too. Teaches you what quality meat should be like and where our food comes from. Book on - I want to do it again!!
