Did the Bingo Night, was a good atmosphere, also with football on.

Bar Maid “ Alex” was lovely and I paid with a £20 and thought I paid with a £10, she pointed this out after bringing the rest to the table. Very Honest girl.

I know it's not that close to Beamish, but it's definitely a time warp. It's like stepping back into the late 80's early 90's, decor, carpets, smell, atmosphere, people.
Don't take that as a bad thing as the pubs back then were a much nicer place to be, and that's what makes this place, atmosphere.
Just do not come thinking it's gonna be modern or even 2000's. It is what it is, like it or hate it, you're gonna do one or the other.

Good place for a venue with large room at back with a disco right on dance floor and a stage. Drinks very reasonable. Dj lady was fab. Groups in bar Friday night. Bar maid in bar area on afternoon needs to treat strangers same as locals. A smile costs nothing!!!!!

Watched the False Poets band play in the concert room which looks recently decorated and is well laid out to watch bands. The bar staff are friendly and helpful. The bar itself does not have a massive range of drinks but it still has a decent choice. We would certainly come back here again.

Attended a christening party in the private hire section of this location. The outside doesn't give a wonderful impression. Plenty of space and seating adequate. Large area for a bouncy castle for children and or dance area. Appeared to be a disco facility if required, also a raised stage. People were ok, one lady was happy to carry drinks to tables. Downside - definitely not wheelchair friendly. There was a ramp from entry to the bar, but steps to all other areas of the location meant that access was prohibited . This spoilt the occasion for the person as they needed to be carried to areas be part of the party, which drew attention to them making them feel uncomfortable!! We were offered a table to be put by the bar which meant we would have been isolated!!!!

I rely on the use of a wheelchair for moving around. Although this facility is good for functions, it doesn't lend itself for any disabled person as it's laid out on different levels. There is one very narrow and angled ramp which is very steep. Please reassess the requirements of facilities you have on offer. Thank you.
