Incredible afternoon tea here. The attention to detail was great, the quality of ingredients was lovely everything felt homemade and tasted amazing, even things I wasn't sure I'd enjoy! The savoury & sweet were equally enjoyable and the waitor took time to explain each element. Service was great, very attentive even though we were in quite a large birthday group. Lots of tea and coffee options, and unlimited! We had a bit of a break before having our scones. They were Homemade and homemade jam too! Scones were warmed too. I thought the price was very reasonable (£26pp). All the food in the counter looked amazing too I was just too full to take anything else home. This is definitely worth the trip even if you're not an afternoon tea fan.

Hidden gem in Surbiton! The food is so fresh and full of flavour, good options for vegetarians too with menu variety, lots of fresh tasty desserts for sweet teeth. Staff are very nice, expect to wait in the queue but it’s worth it.

Popped in and had a wonderful cream tea today. The scones were served nice and warm and the raspberry jam was delicious! Had a very nice pot of loose leaf tea along with it. The staff were lovely and friendly. I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu.

This afternoon tea is one of the very best I have ever enjoyed - anywhere in the world. Truly. And, loving afternoon tea as much as I do, I've sampled many internationally!

The service, the ambience as well as the professionalism, warmth and care taken by the lovely team at The French Tarte made this Afternoon Tea great. But what made it really great was the food itself. In short, it's exquisit.

It's rare to find food where you taste every element of what's on the plate in front of you. But you do here. In fact, I had afternoon tea at the Dorchester in London last month. And, although good, it was not as good as the savoury and sweet fare served in the Tarte's Afternoon Tea. The French Tarte truly is even better - and for a much better price, too!

This is a treat really well worth booking...and then enjoying. 🙂

I wish I could give more stars for the service here. I booked the French tarte afternoon tea for my mum’s birthday in august, and the chef carefully curated alternatives to cater to my mum’s nut allergy. We were made to feel so comfortable, the service was the best and it felt as though our waiter could not do enough! We were also encouraged to take our time and enjoy every bite. The flavours were amazing and the homemade jam was so good! Will definitely be returning.

They make the best pastries in London. It is hard to resist their croissants and almond croissants whenever I am passing the cafe. I also look forward for their weekend special kouign ammans. The buttery good kouign ammans just melt in your mouth.

Excellent Afternoon Tea! Impressive service! The savouries and sweets were all amazing! The savoury and sweet tarts were amazing (the tart base was thin and crunchy ❤️) and the sandwich was delicious. The desserts had exceptional flavours. The staff were very nice and attentive. They explained the food very well. The scones were warm and fresh. Overall, their afternoon tea offering is very worth the price compared to other very expensive ones in London.

I went here one Thursday for lunch with family.
I had a pot of loose assam tea (£2.80) and decided to go for a Coronation chicken baguette (£7.25) which I don't think was on offer, but they were happy to prepare for me, which was nice of them.
I understand this is a more French orientated establishment...but Coronation chicken is a MUST for the menú if you're selling baguettes!
The filling was nice, but the baguette was on the small side.
The bread itself had some crunch on the outside, but was a bit chewy...a sign of not being that fresh. So for what I paid, I don't think I got my money's worth, especially as I didn't get any crisps or salad in the baguette or on the side.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating, but due to value for money and quality, I'm only gonna give it 3 stars.
I'd definitely visit again and try something else.
It's a nice establishment, so don't be put off by my experience.
