First time in The Steam Machine Brewing Co tonight, and it was brilliant.
We got an invite from a mate and he showed us around and educated us on how things work.
Not sure on a beer, have a sample. It’s truly refreshing change to a pub.
I’m not really a drinker, so I went for the Strawberry cider. My Mrs tried a few different beers and and eventually chose some she’d have through the night.
We sat down and decided on what to eat.
The staff were all great, knowledgeable and genuinely helpful.This is a full on working brewery, everything is real. It was genuinely interesting looking about. The place was cosy warm and had a fantastic atmosphere. Well done to the owners and staff.
The food and drink were really decent quality. A decent amount and very tasty.
We will definitely be returning. My only problem with my review would be I really want to keep this place a little gem.
A little mention to Jay Murray. He was ace tonight. The second time we’ve seen him. I can assure him that it wasn’t my last date. Been happily married for 24 years.🤭😂
Edit. Returned and enjoyed a Sunday dinner. This place is just soooo good.

Amazing place!
Large venue with multiple room within its own brewery.
Friendliest staff I've ever come across, very helpful.
We arrive just before 9pm and they kept the kitchen open for us. Burgers were amazing!
Multiple beers and types on tap all brewed on site. Beer quality was amazing (not necessarily to my taste, but amazing quality)
I live 15 miles away, and this place might just become one of my locals!, just need a few session IPSs (<4%) with citra and/or mosaic hops. This is the kind of business that deserves to succeed, great quality and great customer service. Update.....they are now brewing session IPAs (<4.5%). At least 2 on tap today. For food, today (wednesday) was pizza day, but unfortunatly only for prebookings. They were however able to serve cheesy chips.

First time at Steam Machine last night. We enjoyed a delicious Lebanese shish kebab flatbread and stayed for the ceilidh. What a great crowd and it was lovely to see so many young folk up dancing. Great selection of beers and ciders and a fantastic atmosphere. It could be our new favourite place. Just a pity that the dance floor isn't bigger as we would have encouraged all our ceilidh friends to go along to the next ceilidh.

Have visited multiple times and quite often enjoy the £10 beer (pint) and a burger on a Wednesday evening. Staff are always very friendly and food is nice too.

Sampled a few pints here for the first time and was very impressed with the selection available. Everything is so easily drinkable so be warned because those alcohol percentages are no joke lol. Looking forward to a future visit. Staff are very friendly and helpful and if your unsure they will pour you samples to try before buying.

Great tap room, wide beer list from traditional to more modern takes. Unfortunately the kitchen was closed on our visit, so we couldn’t try the food. Dog friendly

Simply exceptional. A tiny pub run by people who deeply care about every aspect of their product. You get the feeling of being invited into someone's kitchen and being asked to try all the latest little things they've been working on. Best burger I've had in the UK. This would stand up against restaurants in London and Manchester, which is all the more impressive given it's a little warehouse unit on an industrial estate in Co Durham. Punches far above its weight on everything.

First visit and the place is a hidden Gem and has a very cool vibe. The burger was quite possibly the best. I've ever experienced tbf, a brilliant balance of flavours, the wife also thoroughly enjoyed the Korens dried chicken kjmchi.

All in house brewed ales as well, something for everyone's taste buds.
