Beautiful drive in the countryside to get there and the hosts were very welcoming. The property has real character and is well appointed. We had a very relaxing time watching the rugby, playing games, going for walks. The old man remains the pool champion of the family!!

My partner and I stayed here recently on a visit to the area and we had a lovely stay at the Old Hall.
The owners were very friendly and welcoming and the house and grounds are well kept with well appointed rooms.
The location is a great base for walking and cycling in the area and there even some pet hens & pigs in the grounds to keep any children (and adults) amused.
Most importantly though, the breakfast was mega!
We'll definitely look to stay here again when we are next in the area.

This place is amazing. If you are planning to do the Coast to Coast or spend the weekend in the Pennines make sure you book at least a couple of nights at the Stanhope Old Hall. The house is stunning and the host, Diane, is lovely. We stayed there the second night of our Coast to Coast trip. We arrived tired, hungry and completely wet. Diane offered us tea and quickly prepared the dinner which was a good hearty Sunday roast: LOVELY! The room was spacious and cosy. We couldn't really ask for more. I totally recommend this place and will definitely come back.

We were bought a dining voucher as a present for this restaurant by family members who had previously visited and highly recommended it.. Friendly, warm and courtious welcome when we arrived slightly early for our booking, offered the option of waiting in the bar area or at our table (which was ready) to order drinks and scrutinise the menu so we chose our table. Lovely dining room with a roaring log fire which was much appreciated as it was freezing outside, very olde worlde. Not an extensive menu but it covers for all tastes I'd say and is changed regularly and seasonaly I'm told.(I prefer a short menu as it means that chef can really, and has to really excell at what's on offer). Food was absolutely fantastic as were the staff... Nuff said ... we'll be going back πŸ˜†

Stayed here on the second day of our coast to coast bike ride. Wow, beautiful place, serving excellent food, but what really made it special were the people who run it. They made us feel so welcome and at ease that we would have loved to stay longer.
