I wouldn't recommend going anywhere else for house plant needs! I am currently on my 9th plant from silver roots in the last 2 months and far from finished yet ?
Silver roots sell so many different species of plants that you will have plenty to choose from. Everyone I have bought has been so happy and healthy and are all thriving. Bethan at Silver Roots is very helpful and knowledgeable at her job. You won't be disappointed if you take a trip to silver roots

I bought a Lemon-lime maranta around 5 months ago. I bought a slightly damaged one so that it was cheaper.

Whenever I contacted them to ask questions, they were brilliant and got back to me very swiftly. I recon if there ever was a problem with an order (mine had no problems), then they would deal with it very well. They also gave me tips on how best to look after it.

The cutting came in a cardboard box with tissue paper inside, to ensure roots didn’t get damaged. (Other companies need to learn from them how to reduce plastic waste).

My maranta has tripled in size, and has grown very healthy leaves. It is still a young plant so don’t want to cut off the original damaged leaves yet.

It’s definitely worth asking if they have any discounted damaged stock if you are unable to afford an undamaged cutting.

Definitely would recommend to anyone wanting a houseplant, especially if you are relatively new to keeping plants.

I recently had an unfortunate experience with Silver Roots that leaves me unable to recommend their services. I ordered a plant online and paid for 1-2 business day shipping, only to find out later that they do not ship on Fridays. This information was not transparently conveyed during the order process.

I needed the plant urgently, but when I reached out to their support team to understand the delay and to discuss refunding the shipping cost, they were unhelpful and rigid. They cited their FAQ and T&C pages as if I should have known about their shipping restrictions. But in an e-commerce setup, crucial details like these need to be highlighted during the ordering process, not tucked away on a different webpage.

The worst part? Rather than finding a way to meet my needs, they chose to cancel my order altogether, without any attempt to notify me in advance or find a reasonable solution. This caused a great deal of inconvenience on my end.

It seems Silver Roots prefers to cancel orders instead of being transparent and helpful with their customers. I'm disappointed, as they had a chance to resolve this amicably but chose not to.

I'd recommend caution if you decide to do business with Silver Roots, and strongly urge you to read their FAQs and T&Cs carefully, as they don't go out of their way to make key information clear to their customers.

I spent a lovely morning at Silver Roots Soil Science 101 Workshop. The workshop covered everything I needed to know about different soil bases, soil aeration and beneficials and how to change soil mixes for different plants. I came away with 10 litres of soil mix that I made during the workshop, some activated charcoal and worm castings and a really useful 'recipe sheet' of different soil mixes for different types of plants. Beth is really friendly and helpful and a fountain of knowledge and would highly recommend. Thanks Beth!

i went to a terrarium workshop held here a couple of weeks ago + it was amazing! i've never done anything similar so nothing to compare it to but the service was outstanding and i would recommend silver roots to anyone who wants to get involved in something similar. it was just a small group of 3 of us (i believe it's held as groups of 4 but the 4th person didn't show up that day) so i felt comfortable asking questions or for help. she was very accommodating! we were told that all the supplies were from small, some of which were local, businesses which is an added bonus. she even gave us some baked goods from the local bakery which we thought was such a thoughtful touch! i bought my own terrarium but i would recommend just using the ones provided as they were bigger + more suitable. and they supply everything else! this would make for a really fun experience gift for someone or as a group activity. also the shop itself was a beautiful environment. 10/10 would love to do this again.

Bought adorable and very affordable begonia brevirimosa and some potting soil. I was pleased with my delivery and returned several times since. Owner is very quick to reply to emails as well when I had an enquiry.
