Bought petunias labelled as block colour flowers in pastel pink or white...they are actually pink and white striped flowers, which i do not like, others are dark pink or white. I'm so disappointed because I've not got what I was sold...won't go there again!

Good selection of plants which is of course why one would go there but oh dear me. Please sort out the loo. We were there early one morning so it wouldn't have been detritus built up over that day.
No loo paper, no paper towels, worst of all sticky, filthy floor. I'll never visit again.

Terrible customer service after being overcharged by their cashier. We visited Shincliffe Mill Nursery on Monday 14th April, travelling from Sunderland, and we purchased bags of slate and a few plants, paying for the items with my partner's debit card. When we got home, my partner noticed that he'd been overcharged by nearly £10 and this showed by the difference in totals on the actual item receipt and the card payment receipt. He rang the following day and was told that he'd have to return to have the overcharge refunded ..... bit of a trek considering we were coming from Sunderland. My partner mentioned this fact and asked if there'd be some compensation considering the error was made by their cashier and no fault of ours. The man on the phone said that they'd sort something out when my partner went and the refund was issued and to ask for Catherine or Fergie. On going back today (Thursday 17th April), my partner asked one of the female members of staff that were present near the tills to speak to either Catherine or Fergie, and explained he'd been on the phone and told to return for a refund. When he mentioned the possibility of compensation for having to travel back for their mistake to be rectified, she replied 'I doubt that', and walked off. A male staff member then approached my partner, asking for 'a word outside' in a confrontational and aggressive manner. This member of staff then asked what my partner's problem was, whilst becoming quite intimidating and accusational. My partner once again explained about their mistake in overcharging and stated that he'd been calm and hadn't been in any way unreasonable or irate with the other staff member he spoke to. The male staff member continued to try to intimate and accuse my partner of 'having a problem'. At this point, my partner verbally retaliated, asking what he had supposed to have said, which they wouldn't tell him. He requested that the refund be issued and the original female staff proceeded to issue the refund. The other female staff admitted that he had not raised his voice or was being aggressive in any way when he arrived and spoke to the original staff member. Considering that the overcharge was THEIR MISTAKE and that they refused to issue the refund for the difference unless my partner returned to their site, this show of total unnecessary and inappropriate lack of customer care is disgusting and totally unprofessional. My word of advice would be to avoid completely OR ensure you check the amount being charged is the same as on the receipt BEFORE leaving and have a witness to prevent being wrongly accused in a situation caused by their incompetence and inaccuracies.

A real nursery. All plants top quality and reasonably priced but limited range. Plenty of bedding, perennials and vegetables but no roses/shrubs. You go for the plants. No facilities and no accessories like planters. You can order a hanging basket which are supposed to be very good. Lots of car parking and set in attractive surroundings. Finally, cash only.
