A beautiful house with a wealth of history, it’s so lovely to see a place like this being used and having good practical use even today, like the marriage of our friends. Though let down by the absence of formal gardens that would be a fantastic addition and asset to the house. Instead you are greeted by a cheap entrance lawn, and a couple of modern day recycling bins smack bang outside the building, oh and a car park. The exit steps used could be vastly improved by introducing a balustrade more befitting of the age of the building. Oh and the gutter hopper needs attention at the front, it’s looks like this might fall on someone. Though easily said given the costs I see, but the potential of business is clearly there so capitalise on this.

Nice to walk round which I did with my dog. I wanted a coffee to sit outside, cafe was open and there was a gift shop where I wanted to purchase something. The woman at the door would not let me in with the dog and didn't even offer to get it for me as you had to walk down a corridor. So they lost out on a couple of sales there. Absolutely ridiculous and not welcoming at all.

Open Heritage Day gave us the opportunity to hear about Show House history and get a glimpse of some hidden jems (bakery, tunnel, cellar). My daughter loved the #dressedforshaw exhibition. Also we enjoyed tea and cake in the cafe. Thanks for a lovely day out!

A very interesting building, steeped in history, with large reception rooms. There are facilities for conference meetings, Weddings and a small children’s play room.
There was ample parking and helpful friendly staff, well worth a visit.

Amazing history and very well kept. Loved the museum part of it, well organised and curated 👍🏼 We went to see the open air sculptures that day.
