Popped in yesterday for the meal deal. When it came to pay there was a lot of confusion. There always is with the tills! Charged me £1.50 more than the price on the board because someone had decided to change the contents of the meal deal but not tell the staff or change their price board but changed the till pricing. Clever not!
You just lost a regular customer and I've told my staff not to bother with you any more and I'll tell anyone who listens. You've just lost a regular customer because of your sloppy management. It's not about the £1.50, it's the principle. Tried to find your head office number online to tell you about this but ended up seeing your miserable staff reviews. Good lord it's all about the poor management. Some staff turnover you have. Opened my eyes about you. Also your business was founded in 1920! Really!!! Surprised you've survived this long.
I've ended up writing this review because it's impossible to contact you. So you've ended up with a miserable review instead of an advisory conversation.
I'll be visiting Chatwins from now on. At least they're honest. I hate being ripped off! Especially with a miserable offhand comment from one of your staff.

UPDATE: now selling out of date soup.

Butty van comes round daily, driver is really friendly and professional. However 80% of the food is over priced and underfilled. The sandwich I've had this morning was pathetic, basically just bread. Don't get any of the the premade hot sandwiches except the breakfast melt, your basically throwing your money away for the convenience. Pasties are half decent though, lamb and mint and steak bake worth a go. Hot bacon and sausage barms ok but don't ruin it with the cheap, watery tasteless sauce.

Delicious!! Ordered bacon, sausage and poached egg on white bread.
Fresh Bread.
Didn't have to wait long for delivery.
Good value for money.
Great choice of sandwiches, deserts, etc.
Friendly. smiley female delivery driver.

Had some wonderful Cornish pasties that were absolutely delicious. Added to this I left my work tablet on the counter as I rushed to the train station. I've of the fabulous ladies that works there, cane to find me at the train station to return it to me. Thank you again!

Amazing, lovely staff who are always happy to their customers. They always make top quality food with a smile, well I assume a smile, they have masks on. My son loves coming out with me because the staff are always excited to see him and he loves it. Don't change, you're doing everything right.

DON'T LET THEM INTO YOUR CAR PARK. Sandwich van smashed into someones car recently. Van driver pretended they didn't know about the accident. Sneaked away from the scene without reporting the accident. A witness gave a statement to the police and the car owner was informed. When informed, Sandwich Express said they would pay for the damage and the owner should not to go through the insurance. Sandwich Express then changed their mind and said it was company policy for their drivers to pay for any damage (they pay just 18 pence over minimum wage). After asking the employee to pay for the damage, the van driver went back to pretending they had not been involved in an accident.
Go to Greggs instead, they won't damage your car and then lie about it.
