A very back-to-basics campsite at a good price. While the pitches are mostly on the wonk, this is a very hilly area so it's as good as you can expect. It has some lovely views and the sky isnt affected by light pollution, so makes for great star gazing if you don't have a cloudy night. There are no showers, but the toilet block is good. However, it is a good walk from the camping area & definitely needs a torch after dark.

Just been to one of the spring lambing days. It was brilliant! We learned a lot from Roly explaining what he was doing and why, asking questions of the volunteers and vet students and just watching. Good to see traditional methods and animal welfare on a small tenant farm on National Trust land. Good cafe, toilets, lovely walks in the area and I have never eaten such tasty lamb!

We stayed at this fabulous B&B while cycling the SDW. The rooms are delightful, especially the front room which has a view to die for. Camilla was lovely. Despite these difficult CV times she made us most welcome while observing proper SD rules etc. The breakfast included eggs and bacon from the farm and homemade bread. Couldn’t have been better. Thoroughly recommended.

I just thought I’d write a quick note to let you know that the shoulder of lamb I received from you last year, had sat patiently in my Freezer until last night when I invited a group of friends over.

They consisted of good friends from Guadalupe, Paris and Burkina Faso all of whom know their food/meat. They left with huge smiles and specially asked me to pass on their compliments to you – some of the best lamb they had ever eaten!

It was delicious and I’d love to get some more from you at some point.
