Absolute gem of a butchers shop, vast choice of locally sourced products and amazing butcher and team behind the counter. They really know their stuff.

Pork pies, fantastic, pricy but, you get what you pay for.

The meat looked amazing, the care and attention put in to everything they do is second to none and they are well worth a visit

Just moved to Easingwold, grew up in Huddersfield but lived away for over 30 years. I am so happy we have this amazing butcher on our doorstep, it's like stepping back in time to the food I had as a child. Just had a homemade full English and would show photos but ate it super fast.
Very lucky to have this on our doorstep be back in soon.

Could S&J make the best pork pies in Yorkshire? In the UK? Certainly the best I’ve ever had and I’ve tried pretty hard to try plenty. Lovely people, fantastic quality and they dealt with our Christmas order superbly and with ease too!

This is a wonderful butchers, the pork pies and the pork and black pudding pies are wonderful. However the price of the pies is astronomical at £2 each it’s not worth the money. They used to be reasonably priced prior to Covid, however since Covid they have put them in sealed bags which seems to have knocked the price up a lot. However if you can afford them they are very very tasty however just a little bit expensive

I felt compelled to write a glowing testimony of the amazing service that these guys gave to me and my family over Christmas. We’d planned a pre-Christmas get-together for the family and had ordered (an amazing) free range turkey. The turkey itself was absolutely stunning. It was when things went wrong for my trip back up to York that these guys really shone. Basically, I got ill, couldn’t make the trip up to York and had nobody else to pick up the turkey for the event that was happening the following day. When my only remaining option was to get this turkey a taxi (!) Darren offered to deliver it - to Strensall. Needless to say the pre-Christmas event went ahead without a hitch (and without me). Thanks to people who still believe in community and looking after each other, hugely appreciated.

Very impressed with the service at s&j's today. There was an accidental mix up with my order and they couldn't have done more to resovle the situation. The chicken was lovely, very good quality and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Thanks guys

Called in whilst shopping in and bought some sausage rolls and pork pies. They were lovely and we would certainly recommend them.
