My father was a Butcher, a great skill, not all can do. I know the in's and outs of the trade, he sadly passed away. But to find someone who has the same skill and passion is rare. STU knows what he is doing, and i really enjoy going in, as he supplies myself and we talk about good old days.....He has knowledge and butchers banter. A true Butcher he is. David front of house can slice meat for you like a Samurai. True skill.
Thin slice! is art in its self.

First visit today, I found them very friendly and the quality of the meat is excellent. I asked for a salmon cut silverside and the joint is perfect, chicken, minced steak and sausage meat also look fantastic. I was looking for a really good butcher as all my local ones have closed. He went the extra mile mile to help with being a wheelchair user. I will be going back.

So good, I had to give it five stars twice. The choice is amazing. The shop is immaculate, the service is friendly.
It's not just that the meat is good quality, they have a great choice of marinated products. Kebabs and burgers etc. Saving money and time. The prices are very reasonable for the quality. Pop in, you will be happy you did.

We've never had a regular butcher as we don't eat a massive amount of meat. So when the family come at Christmas we usually shop around and in the past I've had Christmas meat from M&S, Waitrose and various butchers in the neighbourhood. Having discovered Donaldson's I can honestly say I'll never go anywhere else anytime of the year. Everyone was so helpful with cooking suggestions and very accommodating when I had to downsize my order due to one family having Covid. The turkey crown, ham and pigs in blankets were the best we've had.

100% TOP quality, over the past 3 years I've been using Donaldson's butchers on Newland Ave, however I moved location and recently tried supermarkets and a few other butchers with very disappointing results, Donaldson's is a quality butchers supplying the best products
without doubt .

The meat you get is sensational. I have been in the shop twice in the past week, once for a barbecue and once just to get ideas on what to cook for tea. Both times, different members of staff astounded me with how helpful and knowledgeable they were. The meat is also at such a good price, as a student who tries to get by on price over quality most of the time, I have to say this place does both and whats best is you get top quality meat, no water filled, additive riddled meat, it just tastes superb. I will be going there on weekly/bi-weekly food shops for meat because its just as affordable as any supermarket in the area and the taste is 100% better than anything I've found elsewhere!
