I decided to drive up the A19 and have breakfast at Roots and I was not disappointed. Nice little farm cafe, relaxing atmosphere and the staff were attentive, professional and friendly.

The quality of the breakfast was excellent, I had an extra rasher of bacon instead of the egg. Tasty and lovely presentation, which just makes you want to dive in...which I did. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The one thing I did like was the presentation of my Americano, never experienced this before, my shots of coffee were served in a rustic roots farm mug, with a pot of hot water to the side. Therefore I could make my coffee as strong or as weak as I liked...a really nice touch.

All in all a lovely experience 5/5 I'll definitely be back...thank you Roots 🙂

Shop produce is excellent, toastie in the cafe a bit on the pricey side. However a lovely afternoon. Would have been 5*but for the older larger lady(sorry didn't get her name) who needs to go on a customer service course, some people need a little more time and not pounced on before you pick up the menu. We were made to feel very uncomfortable. In fact get rid of her she is not doing your business any good. The other girls were very very nice, polite and courteous.

Have not been here for quite a while. Glad to see that this is a great Cafe. We had a Rise & Shine with Poached eggs, smashed avocado on Sourdough toast and a Sausage Buttie. The poached egg was a bit overdone for me but still delicious and the bread roll with the bacon buttie was fantastic according to my wife. We also had a flat white and Decaf Americano. Highly recommend.

I visited this farm shop with my partner for an English breakfast, cooked very well, tasty, hot and filling, their drinks were great too, I had a Cappuccino with cinnamon sprinkled on top.

The food shop has great selections of products also, and their meat counter is very good value, I bought 2.5kg of beef mince for £22.50, and was given an extra 250g as added value. I was also asked if i wish to portion uo the mince which i did into 500g portions, very friendly staff. They also sell some nice selection of different teas of which i frequent.

I really enjoy farm shop cafes and this is no exception. It's always busy, but there's lots of space - especially since they put a tented area into the farm yard to booster the number of tables. I had soup and a cheese scone. I always choose that because it's so tasty. After lunch we had a look in the farm shop, gift shop and vegetable stall on the site. It's always a pleasure to visit and my pal bumped into two different acquaintances, proving how popular it is locally.

Would highly recommend.

The cafe had a great selection of sweet and savoury dishes, including vegetarian options, and good tea and coffee.

There's also a farm and gift shop next to the cafe worth exploring.

Plenty of racks to leave your bike if you are cycling in the area.

Stopped there on my way to Saltburn from Harrogate on my bike. Needed a pit stop and had seen this when planning my ride.
Had probably the nicest Cherry Bakewell I’ve ever had, as well a lovely black Americano. Would certainly recommend a stop here even if it’s just for the cake.
