Typically, I would support small businesses with all my heart and giving them room to slack in areas as I understand the ecosystem, but I just don’t think Rocket Gardens have figured their internal operations enough to be able to deliver on their services.
Here comes a story of my experience after having been recommended by a friend to order my veggie plants from Rocket Gardens.

I placed my order early April and received a note that they would ship between late April to late May.
So I waited patiently, trusting.

Mid May I still haven’t even heard anything so I reached out and received a note explaining how it was a cold spring and how sustainable their practices are (which of course I do appreciate). Pointing that the delivery would be made by end of May.

End of May arrived, but no plants and no word. So I reached out again. This time I received a note explaining that my May order is due for delivery in the coming weeks. This is where I realised I’ve made a mistake ordering from them.
Nevertheless, I informed the customer service when my order was placed and that I was very keen on receiving it asap.

So I got a response that actually the plants have been packed and will be shipped soon.

Waited another week or so and no note. So I reached back again and this time was told of a courier problem and how they need to change couriers and that it will take a few days or so.

I wait a few days and again nothing. So I get back in touch and this time already out of patience. The note in response promises a full refund and still shipping the plants as a sorry.

I very quickly was refunded and then eventually notified of the delivery coming soon. I wanted to wait for the plants to arrive to give this review because I thought if the plants are amazing I could at least say that.
But I’m very sorry to say most of the plants were in a desperate condition and although I did plant most of them and only had to discard about couple of dozens, they mostly look at the bring of death. Out of the hundreds I ordered, probably about twenty look strong enough to not give me any concerns.

I would not be surprised if they’ve been in the boxes for the tree weeks of back and forth since first notice of them being packed.

So, overall, whilst I really appreciate the sustainability intentions, I simply can’t bare bad business and would certainly not recommend anyone to purchase from Rocket Gardens.

Is this a salvageable situation for the business? I seriously don’t know. Big big changes and probably a complete rebrand and restructuring would have to take place for me to believe the organisation fixed its issues.

I’m sorry Rocket Gardens, I would have loved to give you an amazing review, but perhaps instead, I would recommend you to reach out for some business mentoring or coaching if you intend to continue the brand.

Purchased Cabbage & Cauliflower plug plants, late in the season; they arrived very well packed and on time, looking healthy and strong. Probably the best packed and healthy plants I’ve ever received through the post.
I look forward to planting them in my allotment. Good value for money too.

Ordered 5 Green Globe artichoke plants via Primrose on 17th June and heard nothing so called - informed an accident had set things back but the plants would be on their way soon - anycase arrived today and already planted up ready for transplantation to allotment in due course! As you can see from attached photo plants in good condition with nice roots and arrived well damp, no mean feat for current weather conditions- glad I used the company and will be using them again!

First time using Rocket Gardens
Good choice of plants available
Plants arrived on time. Delivery was late evening, so I gave them a good soak in their individual packaging and planted them the following day.
All look to be in excellent condition and I have every hope they will grow away well.
Great guide sent with the order.

I discovered all the negative reviews here only after I had placed a large-ish order. Naturally I was very concerned, and I even considered trying to cancel the order. In the end I decided to see for myself and I'm glad I did. Perhaps I was lucky, but the delivery process was as slick as the best of them, with regular email updates. The plants arrived promptly and they were in great condition - I've attached a photo of them after I decanted them from their eco-friendly straw and cardboard packaging to trays for planting out. Needless to say, I'm relieved and pleased in equal measure as well as being puzzled about all those negative experiences mentioned in these reviews.

I love Rocket Garden. No exaggeration .I have been buying from themfor years. They are the reason I got an allotment. I used to feel so guilty for no growing from seed as all my seedlings would rot or be leggy. As a notive you will happily produce home grown fruit and vegetables for your family with confidence. Their top tips leaflet is helpful is choosing what you might want to try. Best of all chemical free food

Ordered total of 9 squash plants took a long time to arrive. When they arrived very, very poor condition. One broken at soil level, one dead/dying. All plants bone dry and terrible specimens, looked like they had been grown and packed by primary school children. Tried to contact but they ignored my emails

I’m so happy with the plugs I have just received from Rocket Gardens. I was a bit lazy about getting them in and they sat for a few days in the garden but they are so healthy still! I would highly recommend. Really very impressed and their branding is gorgeous too. Coincidentally, we ordered these online and discovered when they arrived that they are actually just down the road from us in Cornwall!
