Wanting to upgrade our conservation forestry operation with an alpine tractor, I approached Stephen from Riko to discuss requirements, and he couldn't have been more helpful throughout the process.

The machinery we have purchased (an antoni carraro tractor, country
timber trailer and INO flail) is used, but has been refurbished by Riko to a very high standard, and works perfectly for us in our specific niche of the industry.

I get the impression that Stephen is the kind of person that feels it’s more important to be right than to do right.

I contacted Riko after the trailer I bought (a £15k timber trailer) had some niggles with it and I wanted to express my disappointment with the level of aftercare I had received. Stephen replied with a longwinded email, unpicking and undermining all of my concerns and complaints. I really just wanted him to listen, apologise and explain how he was going to make it right.

Some training in customer service would really benefit this company, as would some deep reflection on the feedback and reviews here and elsewhere.

I will never buy from them again.

New timber trailer, winch and AGT tractor added to our fleet! Always a pleasure to deal with Riko, tell them what I need and what it needs to do and they supply. Having dealt with Riko for over 20yrs buying firewood processors, splitters, tractors right down to a lonely PTO shaft, equipment is always of the highest standard, no issues with equipment failures and when I need parts there always available. Woodland management is a tough old environment and the machinery never let's me down.Even supplied a bespoke fast tow trailer built to my specs for a specific job. Invaluable advice always received and looking forward to receiving my next order.

We've bought a tractor, 3 tonne timber trailer, 2x tractor winches and a flail mower from Riko plus more for other teams. Their team have always been helpful both with sales and aftercare. Have never had a problem dealing with warranty issues.

I would strongly suggest you teach your sales professionals the “science of persuasion” and how to talk to punters.

Attending the Confor show with 2 of my employee’s. Called onto the Riko stand to explore options for a machine to power our newly bought (at the show) Splitta 400 Firewood Processor from Fuelwood, as we don’t require the power pack.

The elderly salesman (and I use this incredibly loosely) was an absolute waste of oxygen. We stopped at the Compact Yellow Tractor on the stand and asked a very simple and quiet frankly essential question which was - the flow rate of the hydraulic pump as we require a machine with a minimum flow of 40 litre a min.

This chaps response - “No idea, it’s a new machine”…….. it took me having to prompt him by saying “can you find out?” For him to find a flyer……

No information on the flyer, so he directed us to flipping google to find the information out!!!!! And walked away!!!!

We preceded to walk around the corner form these cowboys and purchase a 2.6 tonne Doosan digger to power our processor.

Plenty of reputable and proactive professionals in this industry, avoid avoid avoid avoid…..

I’ve been dealing with Stephen regarding getting a new processor. Circumstances changed on my side, however Stephen was very understanding, fair and accommodating, where other companies may not have been so keen to help in a similar situation. I would be more than happy to deal with Stephen again after my recent dealings.
