A nice village butchers, but don’t be fooled, purchased salt beef bagels, the bagel was so hard, salt beef must of been cut on the thinnest ham slicer setting! The gherkins absolutely delicious. Inedible. Very expensive lesson. Never again.

As someone who is a bit of a foodie (2000+ plus reviews on trip advisor, including 119 Michelin stars) I am absolutely clear that this is undoubtably the best butchers I have ever used. The owner is passionate about his meat and is very helpful in offering advice.
He is basically a one man operation most of the time, so if he was closed once, see below, that’s life, his meat is well worth a return trip!
Some of the nicest shop bought lamb and steaks I have come upon.

Always great meat and always great advice. My attempts and making my own sausages would never have worked without the guidance I received. I am always so much happier when I have shopped there rather than the supermarkets. The bacon, the cuts, the sausages are superb and the making of our annual Christmas banquet. Well worth the drive.

Great butchers, plenty of variety, great full lamb chops, home made sausages, thick cut bacon, artisan breads. I cannot understand the below comment on opening, I visit this butchers most weekends, never been shut Saturday.

Meat is lovely, my husband says, very friendly and helpful. So at long last have found a nice butcher to get good meat from, for the thickness of the meat its a good price.

Turned up at 10am as page says open till 1pm and clearly closed with no sign of opening. Locals said doesn't open Sunday so a waste of a drive.
