The cafe was nice but Β£9 to visit the "gardens" was way overpriced. Overgrown woodland trails were disappointing, with 2 silted up ponds due to carp and whole route round toon less than 30 minutes. None of the sculptures from previous posts were there or visible in the undergrowth just a few lovely carved wooden logs and falling apart deer willow. I can see the hype for these gardens when the rhododendrons are out but would not bother to visit again sadly. You can get more by walking for free in the local woodlands and commons.

The month of May is this gardens time to shine and currently it is a visual feast of show stopping colour and texture. The whole garden is created around a ravine so you get some incredible vistas. The breadth of rhododendrons and azaleas is massive and at this time of year the colours sing.
As you can imagine it’s very popular at this time of year but it’s very easy to lose the crowds and enjoy some tranquil moments.

Following our wet spring, the gardens are bursting with every shade of green creating 'hidden' gems to discover. There are still several varieties of rhododendron adding colour to the swathes of wildflowers - & the ponds & streams add interest & reflections in the sunlight. Lots of sculptures to admire throughout. Great coffee & cake in the tea rooms making it a lovely garden to visit.

Our first visit to Ramster Gardens and with our 6 month old puppy, who loved exploring the many pathways with us too. We were about 3 weeks too late to see the colourful flowers of the rhododendrons and azaleas although we knew that before we travelled to the gardens. There were still splashes of colour to appreciate as we walked along the pathways which meandered beneath the trees, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The cafe, adjacent to the car park, is great and we sat in the sunshine eating a very pleasant sandwich and piece of cake. Recommended.

My wife, our dog and I had a wonderful time taking a stroll late in the morning. We also had a delicious lunch in the gardens, where we enjoyed the food and the cake so much that we went back for seconds after taking another walk. The photos we took show the garden in its full beauty, and we plan on visiting it regularly from now on.

Visited in May, beautiful garden layout Rhododendrons and some Azaleas in flower. The garden and tree map was very helpful and some unique specimen trees.
Visited with friends, one friend was in a wheelchair, front wheel drive, some paths were not that accessible, but he managed.
Coffee and Walnut cake was brilliant!

Lovely peaceful walks in an informal woodland garden. Best times to visit are May when the rhododendrons are in bloom, and autumn when the leaves change. Very dog friendly on a lead with no other restrictions. Great cakes, smoothies and coffee.
