We were told the best Cumberland Sausage come from this Butchers/Shop/Post Office. Quite frankly we were disappointed. Note really sure why the late Queen shopped here. We have tried other Butchers around Cumbria and several are better. We also found the Customer Service to be lacking. The Lady that was serving us was only interested in taking our money and then throwing the debit card receipt at you (note even handing it to you or even putting it in the bag), whilst taking to someone in the shop. The shop was also poorly stocked with empty shelves (not really a good look for the shop). I don't think we will drive nearly 2 hr again to visit this shop. Poor Experience all round.

Probably the best Cumberland Sausage in the world. They are by appointment to the Queen for their Cumberland Sausage, 98 % meat. Buy the traditional ones, for some reason the thin ones don't taste the same. Also their stuffed crown of chicken is lovely. No so good on fresh vegetables last time I was in.

Visited Cumbria last week and passed a sign for this shop. Has to be best butchers ever. So glad we found this little gem the shop is like stepping back in time and beautiful. We've tried their Cumberland sausages, bacon, black pudding also their millionaire shortbread and apple crumble all have to be 5 star for taste and quality. Brought quite a bit back to freeze but will have to return when gone, you've spoilt us with your quality.

It's a long time since I experienced such quality products.
I travelled over 260 miles that day just because I'd seen pictures of the shop and its old fashioned appearance but had no idea of what pleasures lay in store.
The Cumberland sausage and smoked back bacon I purchased was up there with food of the gods and never have I felt so satisfied after a meal , it's going to be hard eating supermarket junk again until I can make a return trip .
Wish I'd bought more for the freezer and won't make that mistake again.....thank you for such a wonderful experience.

If you appreciate 'quality' then I implore you to visit RB Woodalls!
I enjoyed a drive out through the Lakes to buy various high quality food items and saved the best till last.
Woodalls is a traditional shop. The lady I dealt with was polite, professional and quite rightly proud of the produce she was selling.
I have just enjoyed their Streaky Bacon and it was perfect!
No white gloop, slime or cr*p just quality, tasty bacon at it's absolute best!!
Please visit. You will not be disappointed.
