We dined here on a wintery Saturday night in March. The Old House Hotel was closed so they moved us to the vineyard which was a nice change in scenery. I love this place - it’s bright and airy yet somehow cosy, smells of wood smoke and leather, and the dining area is refined and elegant.
Food was excellent - I had truffled parsnip soup and guinea fowl for main while my partner had wild mushrooms on toast and cod for main. Service was superb - present and helpful when needed but unobtrusive and very professional. 5 stars.
The only gripe is the ever confusing booking site and information across multiple venues. For years now it’s needed an overhaul. Keep it simple and think about what the customer needs to know.

Wine tour is expensive but amount of wine given is very high so I guess appropriately priced! The room for tastings is nice and the staff super friendly. The really baffling thing is they pride themselves in being tech focused, but the website has one of the worst user interfaces I've ever seen in a modern website. Similarly, you are encouraged (forced?) to download an app to rate the wines. The app is poorly contrived and hard to use.

There was quite a bit of upselling involved in the tour - more than I've previously experienced (join our wine club; come stay in these rooms; why not buy these wines; eat in the restaurant etc). I suggest toning this down!

Absolutely amazing wine tasting and vineyard tour. The staff are super friendly, they couldn’t have done anymore for us, Adam was amazing during the whole experience.

The sparkling wine was excellent, fantastic selection for tasting and very generous amounts.

We also stayed for more nibbles and wine and really did not want to leave.

The vineyard and venue is lovely set in stunning surroundings. If you are in the area I would 100% recommend.

RIPPED OFF & MISLED!

Ordered a 'Wine and Pairings 9 course meal' for my partner and I on Valentines day (£240). They called me 2 days prior to make me pay early which I did. However, once we sat down they explained that if we'd line the wine parings to go with the meal, it would cost us an additional £75 per person. (£400) for a 9 course meal. Confused and feeling misled, we declined. There was no mention of this on the order nor was it declared when they called me to collect my money. We booked a nearby hotel prior, especially so that we could enjoy the wine selections and drive home the next day.

Was the 9 course meal worth the £240 price?
No.
While some of the courses were tasty, many courses included a scoop of sorbet, a prawn cracker and a loaf of bread. we had to also guess what we were eating as the place felt understaffed because the waitress didnt have time to explain the courses.

I emailed later to ask for a partial refund but I've been met with silence.

We booked last night for a much needed break.
We booked a room that promised a bath. No bath.
Air conditioning/ heating. No instructions. No room to help phone number. Turned the unit off. An hour later the unit making a continuous loud noise. No way of calling for assistance. Had to find staff member. This was 9pm.
After a significant wait we were informed they were sending out an engineer who would not arrive for at least an hour and would completely disconnect the system. 2 degree outside and dropping. No alternative room available.
This is our first break in months. We left. Nightmare and extremely disappointed.

What a beautiful place to sit and watch the sun set, whilst eating the most delicious food, and drinking amazing wines. Staff were welcoming, friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Just one little qualm, the walkway to the carpark could be better lit.

Do not trust this company. My situation is very similar to the ones below. Although we actually never used a credit account. Our account was always in the black and we paid into our account on a monthly basis. We have never ordered over what we had in our account. I placed an order for just under £150 before Christmas, the order was accepted and I even paid extra for postage as their free postage limit is £200. Our last order prior to that was for around £250, and that was back in 2023, again that was paid using money in our account. Throughout 2024 they happily took our monthly payment right up until I placed my last order. Then, low and behold, they cancelled my order, didn't tell me and took my money! To me, this is fraud. They are extremely difficult to get hold of, and when I did speak to someone they cited an email (which we only received after our last order was placed and conveniently followed on from the cancellation of our DD). The rambling email doesn't make sense, especially as we were not using any credit facility! I am filing a claim via small claims court. Don't touch this company!
