We got the boiler and home cover and made a claim for the lights.
An electrician came out after paying an excess of £60 made excuses and said he would need to come back.

The guy broke a light fitting and left the neutral hanging out and left as he didn't want to work in the roof space (junction box needs swapping). He didn't know you couldn't stand on plasterboard and what joists were called. He consistently just looked at the fitting without doing anything after breaking my house and leaving it unsafe.

Because another electrician came out and worked in a different part of the house a few months back they are refusing to work on it, because the lazy workman doesn't want to go into the ceiling. They already damaged my property and made us miss our new years collection food, while charging us £60 and £25 per month. An electrician worked on the house when they installed the electrics in 1989!!

I'm going to get legal advice, as an ex Plumber & Heating Engineer and as a site manager it's not relevant or ok.

He also claimed he left at 4.04pm... I have CCTV cameras showing he left at 2.27pm saying he 2as going to return, which was all lies.. it was a quick bucket to be made at our expense.

They have now said the engineer has completed works and that they won't be sending anyone out.

Nothing was completed and he has damaged my property while leaving it unsafe. The light switch is hanging off with duct tape as is the fitting with a Neutral he pulled out.
Let's see how the papers and Trading Standards view what you're doing to people under the name of Utility Warehouse!!!!!

Take no ownership whatsoever.

I pay for a home emergency cover with Halifax.

The boiler broke down (no hot water for family) so they sent this company; Preferred.

The preferred “engineer” came out and didnt even open the boiler. Just turned on the taps and says “nothing wrong with that”. The engineer queried when it was last serviced which was 13 months ago. Five minutes later the engineer then left saying “call if it goes wrong again”, then proceeded to leave. Totally unprofessional. His heart wasn’t in it and did not want to do the required work.

An hour later the call centre call me stating they can’t work on the boiler as it has not been serviced within the last 12 months, which is what the engineer apparently stated on the report. I pointed out that on the Halifax T&C’s it clearly states that the boiler needs to have been serviced within the last 24m. Her response was “ah alright”.

Big companies like Halifax should only source the work to reputable companies. It was no surprise for me to come online and find all of these negative reviews.

Had a boiler fitted by Preferred Management Solutions . Liam kept me up to date the whole time . The guys ( Dean & his team ) that fitted the boiler were extremely helpful & efficient. I had to call the out hours number on Sunday . I was told to call them back Monday morning . To my surprise Liam contacted me on the Monday morning as he been advised that I had called . I’ve also had contact with Dean outside of his working hours to see if he could talk me through it . Something needs replacing . He is contacting the office on my behalf. Excellent service . Thank you 🤩

Went to "Go Assist" because I needed plumber for an emergency, paid them £129 for emergency service. Eventually go a message from Preferred Management Solutions to say they would be out between 7pm -11pm. Then had a phone call to say they couldn't come but would come today. Engineer came this morning and told me I needed a new macerator he would contact Preferred Management to give the quote and get permission, I would then have to pay them the amount and he would be back this afternoon. Several calls later I was finally given a quote of £884 , but was then told the engineer hadn't got the part and there was no guarantee he would be able to come back today. Total waste of time. Already paid Go Assist £129. This job was an emergency and 24 hours later I have got nowhere. Have cancelled Preferred Management Solutions and have another plumber who can do the job today. My husband has had a major stroke so we need the down stairs loo repaired urgently.
Go Assist and Preferred Management are a waste of space and a total waste of money. All I got from them was very high blood pressure!

I have to say I was worried when I saw the reviews as we had an electrician booked by our company to install an electrical oven. He turned out to be very polite and courteous. Did a great job, checking everything was working and safe before leaving. It would seem that the negative reviews are all about boilers or plumbing but in fairness this guy was lovely.

Waste of time we had problem with combi boiler even gas engineer didn't turn up and we was said we need change pressure sensor even error code is for fuel sensor they quoted 350£ without guarantee boiler will be fixed. Full off cowboys there

If you're reading this and you're with Utility Wearhouse or any other company that subcontracts to preferred management, cancel your policy now and don't make the same mistakes myself and others have made.

I have had no hot water for 7-weeks. They Ended up forcing me to have a power flush, for £480 which made zero difference, and then re-opening a claim, another £60. Meanwhile I’ve been variously promised “compensation” ranging from 40 to 25. Absolutely useless and the first engineer actually made the problem worse.

If they had simply told me they couldn't repair the boiler I would have bought a new one. They have cost me a fortune. They are cowboys and scammers.
