8 course tasting menu and all of them were absolutely beautiful. Found this when Googling for somewhere to eat while we were on holiday and struck gold with a delightful treat. The chef is a genius, and the hosts made it a very relaxed, welcoming and informative evening.

Next time we are in the area, we'll definitely be back.

As part of that 'tasting menu' trend, if that's what you're after, you won't be disappointed. A lovely dining room, with semi-open kitchen and very attentive and knowledgeable staff.

Crockery and artwork come from local creators, and adds to that 'local food producer' ethos.

We visited Pignut in Helmsley thanks to a Christmas gift voucher and took friends along to share the experience — and what a treat it was! Every course was outstanding, each dish somehow surpassing the last, even when we thought perfection had already been reached. The focus on local suppliers shines through in everything, from the beautifully crafted food and wine to the crockery and even the artwork. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with background music perfectly chosen to enhance the experience. Tom and Laurissa have created a true gem — thoughtful, creative, and absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for a dining experience that delights from start to finish, Pignut won’t disappoint!

What a gem of a place in Hemsley, we cannot praise the establishment enough. WOW food.
Simple exquisite surroundings, an incredible eight course tasting menu, two amazing hostesses... And a magic chef. The food is clever - wastage well thought out and
overall delicious in every way. Wine parring was outstanding. We cannot offer enough praise for this small team and we are looking forward to another visit. Thank you Tom and Laurissa for the experience.

A hidden gem tucked away in the beautiful town of Helmsley. Using local produce and maximising every trim and cut, the 6 course lunch menu we sampled was incredibly well balanced and thought out. This coupled with a wonderfully relaxed setting, friendly staff and exceptional service. I would go out of my way to visit again. Big fan.

We dined at Pignut for my birthday and what a fantastic meal it was! Each dish was presented beautifully and the service was spot on. A lovely cosy environment with some beautiful pieces of artwork on the walls. Definitely worthy of a Michelin star - I'm sure it won't be long.

Used a voucher our children bought for Christmas and we had the 4 course taster menu and we added the Mushroom ice cream to the last course which was incredible. Service from the chefs partner was superb and the food amazing . It’s obviously expensive but it is the kind of establishment along with the food and service that I guess warrants the cost. We cannot praise the owners enough as they had some cancellations that day but still kept open that evening for own long standing booking and we had the place to ourselves. !

Such a wonderful restaurant.
Inventive, beautiful, perfectly cooked and seasoned tasting menu.
The service was extremely professional whilst still remaining relaxed and friendly.
Get in here before it gets a star and you can’t get a seat.
