Penwood Nurseries is a local family run nursery. We bought two pear trees, an apple tree and a black berry plant and a few other gardening things. We will be returning for more. They have an impressive collection of trees of all kinds and lots of plants and shrubs. All are healthy and well looked after. The nursery is well designed and with ample parking. The prices are very competitive too. The staff are busy but knowledgeable and helpful when you need them.

Working plant nursery, with a wide range of perennials, shrubs, hedging and trees. Knowledgeable, friendly staff and very competitive prices. Plants in great condition, mostly grown in the nursery and so hardy and acclimatised. Do come here for shrubs that would normally cost a small fortune, filling a border or finding a specific plant you want. Don't come here if you want coffee and a selection of fudge (but there are other nice places in the area for that, so you can make a morning of it).

Came here last week and all I can say is wow! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with our many questions (new to gardening) and the prices compared to garden centres were second to none! Really impressed and will only come here now to buy future plants and shrubs!

As two horticultural professionals, we visited Penwood for the first time in February 2024 after hearing very good reports of it, and have to say we most definitely weren’t disappointed! Excellent range of plants of the highest quality, (grown) in a nursery setting (as opposed to a garden centre). Extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff made our trip even better! Don’t expect a tea room, clothes shops or cheap books - This is a *proper* working nursery and all the better for it. Thank you Penwwod - You’re a great find and we’ll most definitely be back! 👍😊💚

Excellent nursery. Really good quality. Lots of mature hedging options at a good price for us instant gardeners. Great selection of mature tress also very competitively priced. All the staff very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.
