We went to Swann's of Woodbridge as from suffolk, what a dive they dumped a portacabin on site & called it a cafe to draw in punters as the plants are all rubbish! As I'm from Dedham we gave Original Landscapes a shot thinking the prices would be high, how wrong I was please go & enjoy an experience which they could charge for just to walk around. The lay out is wonderful plants & trees are fantastic staff are so helpful we were escorted around by Gwynne with expert advice & our needs & NOT for there profit. The prices are excellent & would recommend 100% which is why we purchased a willow tree, we have ordered with delivery before but go and take your wallet & enjoys a fantastic experience... ☆☆☆☆☆ once again thankyou

Visited this nursery over the weekend and was made to feel incredibly unwelcome. The female owner was rude and condescending and left me feeling very upset by the whole experience. They don’t seem to want retail customers, you are made to feel like an inconvenience if you want any help in your choice of plant. It costs nothing to be kind in this world and you can’t expect local support for a business if you treat your customers as though they are an inconvenience to you. Original Landscapes - in a world where you can be anything, do try and be kind.

Visited for the first time last weekend and we were very impressed. I'd driven by many times, but never been inside and there's so much on offer - a lot more than you might think! We had some particular plants that we wanted to find, plus a tree for the garden.

We are not very green fingered, and the staff were so friendly and helpful, offering lots of detailed advice on what plants to go for. We changed the tree we had in mind, after the advice received so we're very grateful! The staff there happily talked us through the different options and the benefits/negatives of each. They didn't mind that we kept looking back and forth at different options.

Once we'd made our minds up, the staff carefully packaged the plants and tree for transport. We didn't think the tree would fit in the car, but the staff were able to use some string to carefully tie the tree, making it suitable to transport and they helped us to load it all in the car.

The prices are very reasonable, even for more established plants. I highly recommend this place.

I visited yesterday for the first time. I had been looking for a particular tree/ shrub of a certain size but had really no idea of my options. The person who helped me was very helpful and patient and I managed to find something to do the job. As it was too big to take home I asked if it could be delivered which it was this morning by a very helpful man. I cannot recommend this place more highly. The plants, trees and shrubs are in excellent condition with plenty of choice. If you are looking for something other than traditional bedding plants you should give this place a look.

We have just had six trees delivered and planted by Original Landscape Design. It took several visits to OLD to sort out and choose what we wanted. Every time we visited there was always someone at hand to answer our questions and offer advice, with entertainment provided by Misty the lovely Alsatian. We finally made our choices and Gwynne the boss man and owner took over, he gave us a detailed quote including trees, compost, delivery and planting, etc. Two men arrived on the day at the time quoted and planted the trees with no mess or fuss and to top it all Gwynne turned up later that day to check everything was in order, which it was. We cannot recommend OLD enough, a superb family run business.

Very good selection of trees, shrubs and more. All look well maintained so I think you can buy from here with confidence. They don't appear as keen as I hoped to help the non commercial buyer with selection of suitable plants. I imagine they focus on large scale design and planting programmes and not the average householder's requirements.

Their system needs updating. We left with someone else's purchase, didn't realise until we got home that it had someone's name on it, and obviously neither did the lady who served us. Plants that are sold really need to be away from the ones for sale

Edit: owner says they know what plant it was (response below) but I bought it 6 months prior to this review, I never mentioned what plant it was on here, never gave my name in store and I wasn't even the one that checked out, it was my partner. Sounds like rubbish to me...

Have found their Customer service to small scale local gardeners totally lacking. Unwilling to offer over the phone advice when wishing to purchase hedging and rudely told to just go to their website and order or 'go elsewhere'. Very disappointing, as wished to support a local business. Will certainly 'go elsewhere' as they suggested and spend my £500 + with a company who can be bothered to speak to me over the phone prior to purchase.
