We have stayed at Nettlecombe Farm for a number of years and have always enjoyed our stay in the cottage called Forge. This year we had the use of Wren which can sleep 3 people but has just one bedroom. It was ideal for the two of us particularly as everything was level with no steps, a walk in shower and plenty of room; ideal if you have mobility problems.|The cottage was well equipped with all that one would need. A comfortable lounge with a flat screen tv, and adjoining well equipped kitchen with with all the usual appliances including dish washer, washing machine/dryer, micro wave, cooker, fridge and large freezer. The bedroom was at the end of a light and airy corridor with a bathroom which included a walk in shower, bath and toilet next door. There was plenty of storage space too.|The cottage has a small outside sitting area with tables chairs, bbq, rotary airer and a small paved and grass area which gets the sun most of the day when it shines. This faced onto an easily accessible parking area for the cottage.|It was extremely well presented and spotlessly clean. What we also like is the friendliness of the staff who cannot do enough to help right through from the booking to those who maintain the site. Nothing is too much trouble.|We didn't have any children with us but saw the groups go off to feed the animals. It was also nice for us to walk around to where the animal enclosures were. We walked across the fields to the village, a really nice walk and back up the lane.|The farm is within easy reach of Ventnor and a good place to set out from to visit attractions around the island.|Thank you to Josie and all her staff, we had a wonderful holiday and are already booked for a return. Can I recommend Nettlecombe Farm.... without hesitation.

I cannot say enough great things about Nettlecombe Farm. We've just spent a week at Corner Cottage as a family of 6. The cottage was very spacious with all the amenities we needed, along with a great enclosed garden for the kids & dog. It was so peaceful with stunning scenery.||Seeing the animals every day was fantastic. Even if we missing feeding time in the morning, we could wonder down to the farm any time to smooth the sheep, donkeys, pony but feeding them in the morning was so much fun and Jess & Tallulah did a great job with the younger kids too!!!||Fishing lakes kept my son busy each day, scenic walks were gorgeous and it's a great base to visit the rest of the island.||Highly recommend it and hope to go again.

The farm was lovely! Outstanding service from start to finish. Amazing family run business with an authentic love for the community. Would highly recommend. Accomodation was perfect. We stayed in Swallow. Perfect size. Home away from home.

This was our third consecutive trip to the farm, and we hope one of many to come. It is a family run business, and super friendly. There is so much to do on the farm, and on the Island, suitable for young families. Our little ones enjoyed feeding the animals each morning, and playing in the mini tractor play area. There were lots of other children for them to play with in safe surroundings and much fun was had by all, including a few water pistol fights! |The accommodation is perfect for a short stay, well equipped and any issues are dealt with quickly and without fuss. The family go out of their way to help, which is much appreciated. I am just about to book our next trip, we love it so much.

We’ve just come back from a lovely week’s holiday in Barley cottage and we are already planning our return next year. Our 20 month old (and us big kids) loved the daily animal feeding with Jess and Tallulah particularly visiting the chickens, donkeys and alpacas. The little touches such as the postcards, colouring sheets and walking guide were all really appreciated. The scenery around the farm was stunning and the cottage was the perfect base for visiting the many child-friendly attractions in the south of the Isle of Wight. Thank you for a lovely week!

Excellent location. Lovely scenery and peaceful at this time. Comfy bed and reclining sofas for relaxing. Animals an extra bonus. Full facilities. Plenty of places to visit without going too far. Staff very helpful and friendly. Loved it!

This place is amazing! I have two young children (2 and 5) and they loved it. The feeding in the morning was particularly good and Tallulah is great with the animals and the children. We cuddled sheep, chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs and sat on the pony. There are also alpacas, cows, donkeys, an emu and even reindeer. |It is so quiet and lovely to be off grid for a while. |We will definitely be returning

We had an excellent week at Nettlecombe farm. The cottage was in a great location and fully equipped with all that we needed, with so many additional items useful for a holiday with a small child. Little added extras like colouring and postcards were a lovely touch too. We were able to access Wi-Fi and electric car charging on site.
Every morning we went to feed the animals- the animal keepers were so warm and friendly and made the experience really special for our little one. There is a fantastic children’s play area and even a little slide in the enclosed garden of the cottage- they have thought of everything to make it family friendly.
This is a real hidden gem! We will definitely be rebooking for next year and feel so grateful to have found such a special place.
