I had the pleasure of spending 4 nights in one of the roundhouses in early October. The location is wonderfully secluded but also close enough to Ashbourne & other places. I was in henmore water, the most secluded roundhouse, and the feel is luxury all the way through. There is a small kitchenette to do breakfast and light food, comfortable bed, small seating area/ dining table with stools & bathroom with shower. All very good & comfortable. It was great to sit outside & just enjoy the peace & views. The hot tub was fantastic for early evening dips. I ordered the extras of afternoon tea and the breakfast hamper. The icing on the cake, beautifully baked & presented. A lovely place to stay

If you're looking for an escape from the modern world but still want luxurious modern living then this is the place for you. It feels like it's in the middle of no where but you're only a 5 min drive from the town should you need anything.
The roundhouse was stunning and fully kitted out. We stayed in January and I was worried it would be a bit chilly inside....this was not the case thanks to the indoor heating system. The bed was soft and comfortable, everything in the room made our stay feel luxurious. The hot tub had been filled and was ready to go once we arrived and the bbq kit, fire wood and welcome pack of food provided were very nice touches. The location itself was beautiful and very well kept, with freshly trimmed grass paths leading to each building and hedging around each to ensure privacy. The perfect escape!

Everything about our 2 night stay was perfect. We stayed in Sturston winds round house and loved every minute. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay unforgettable. Great communication before the stay, and friendly welcoming staff during the stay. The round house was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. I can not think of a single fault and would highly recommend a visit.

Our stay in the roundhouse was absolutely perfect! We wanted a quiet countryside retreat and got exactly that. The welcome hamper was such a lovely touch! The bed was so comfy, we had a huge lay in and breakfast in bed looking out over the fields. The roundhouse was pristinely clean. We enjoyed being walking distance from Ashbourne for pub dinners (about 25 minutes and lit most of the way - the roundhouse supplied a torch which we used for part of the way!). There were other guests staying while we were there but we wouldn’t have known if it wasn’t for their car in the car park, as the roundhouses are perfectly positioned for privacy. We would also highly recommend a 15 minute drive to Dovedale - we walked along the river, over the stepping stones and up Thorpe Cloud - just don’t forget to take 20p’s for the loos!

We’ve been so impressed I’m writing my review on our last night! The roundhouse is great and has all you need for a short stay. The owners are great and beyond helpful. My partner was so impressed with the view (we stayed in Henmore Water) what a sight to fall asleep to and wake up too. It’s so peaceful and I managed to actually relax for the first time in such a long time. The roundhouse was cosy and well heated. The welcome bread, eggs, milk water and chocolate were wonderful, fresh and delicious. I ordered the cream tea as a treat and was not disappointed. We chose to cook and and eat in as the privacy and peace was what we were after. The final touch to our mini break was the hot tub! It was Fantastic to be outside in the cold air with warm bubbles keeping us toasty, also perfect after a long walk! ||We will be back in the spring or summer to experience the roundhouse during a warmer season. A huge THANK YOU to Pam, Tamsyn and Keith (for helping us get in as we forgot our directions) for everything. ||Natasha and Steve.

Just returned having spent a few days in one of the beautiful roundhouses.||The accommodation was fantastic and the views were amazing. ||We stayed in Henmore Water which is the furthest from the car park area but it a very short walk. The roundhouses are all secluded and privacy is guaranteed. It’s peaceful and the location is excellent for visiting local attractions including Dovedale and the Heights of Abraham to name just a couple. It’s a short walk into Ashbourne which has a good mixture of shops and restaurants.||My partner had booked an afternoon tea for when we arrived at the roundhouse, we would definitely recommend this, there was so much for the two of us. We also booked a breakfast hamper for our first morning. The produce was fresh and of excellent quality.||There were so many nice touches in the roundhouse from the toiletries to the blankets, tv and radio. We had a few rainy days so weren’t able to fully utilise the bbq outside but it was there stocked with fuel had we wanted to use it. We enjoyed sitting on the chairs on the veranda each night and in the morning drinking our coffee overlooking the farm and countryside beyond.||Thank you Pam for an amazing stay. Can’t wait to come back again, next time for longer!

Beautiful location can be a little tricky to find at first. We stayed in the Barn, and it is beautiful, self-catering but has everything you need utensils etc. Fresh milk, eggs, butter and bread was already provided, such a nice touch. Very clean rooms and bedding, added bonus of towels provided too. Very quiet peaceful place, great for relaxing but close to lots of locations for fun (Alton towers is very close) we absolutely loved our week here.

Myself and 2 friends stayed at the barn to celebrate our 50th birthdays. Everything was perfect, spotlessly clean, well equipped kitchen for cooking. High end furnishings comfy beds. A peaceful setting perfect for friends, families and couples. A car is definitely needed to get around.
