Had a brilliant day, my wife had brought it as a Christmas present. Dave was very good about explaining everything about bees before we suited up & went to the hives. Most of the time is spent with the bees, from looking for the queen bees, to handling the frames of honey. This would suit everyone from people thinking of getting bees to people like me who have an interest in nature.

I received a days beekeeping experience for my 50th. This is something I have had an interest in for some time but never had the chance to explore this fascinating world of our honey bee.

The day was awesome and Dave’s enthusiasm unwavering throughout. Not only were we taught basic information in a fun and interesting environment, but Dave’s encouragement, enthusiasm and humour made the day fly by!

I was amazed at how much hands on experience we were given just in the morning alone. The afternoon session is what really sealed the whole experience for me and the care and instruction shown convinced me to pursue how I can take the next step to becoming part of the family of people supporting our awesome bee community.

I can’t thank or recommend Dave and the whole experience enough. Thank you for being so authentic, funny and encouraging. I wish you and the whole team every success going forward.

What a truely informative day, Dave was funny and knowledgeable. Experienced opening the hive and checking the hive is working correctly. Ordered the honey and was truely scrumptious . Highly recommended the experience.

Had a wonderful half day bee keeping experience. Dave is passionate about bee keeping, very informative with a cheeky sense of humour. A very hands on course, looking at the bees to identify larvae up to the Queen bee. Fascinating. Didn't know what to expect but loved every minute. Added bonus is the Rag n Bone cafe for coffee before the course and lunch afterwards.

A truly wonderful experience for anyone
with even the slightest interest in bees.
Davids enthusiasm, humour, and extensive knowledge, will immerse you in the amazing world of these fascinating, and essential to human life, creatures.
The chance to get hands on, guided by Davids expertise, is second to none.
It was a beautiful day when my husband and I visited (10/5/25), so following our morning bee experience, we were able to chill in the beautiful little cafe courtyard, enjoying drinks from Bens excellent, welcoming, and quirky, on site, tea-room/cafe, Rag &Bone, serving one of the best lattes/iced lattes you'll be lucky enough to be served anywhere, and succulent mouth watering cakes!
Our accompanying friends, whilst waiting for us, took a walk along the 'blue circle' walk which took them from site, along the river and then the canal, which by all accounts was a lovely walk.
If you're wondering about having a go at bee keeping, or like us, are just interested in the complex life of bees, do go on this bee experience with More Bees Please, it's wonderful! There's no pressure, and when you leave you'll be quite literally, buzzing!!!

I had a great day facing my fears @ more bees please, I must admit I was ready to go home after the first 5 mins with be bees buzzing around my head but Dave reassured me & to have faith in the bee keeping suit. By the end of the day I was checking the hives, looking for the queen, checking for eggs & eating honey freshly harvested.
Thanks Dave I will be returning to gain more confidence & hopefully one day have a my own hive. Highly recommend day out & the coffee & cakes @ the rag & bone shop was to die for.

My son and I attended the half day More Bees Please bee keeping experience and I'll admit I was apprehensive going into the day however Dave was a brilliant tutor and helped to make everyone feel at ease with his humour and fun nature. He had the whole group laughing throughout but still taught us so much about bees, which was absolutely fascinating! I have been talking about bees non stop since then! We had alot of hands on time with the bees which was unexpected but brilliant and by the end we could see the differences between the types of bees and understand what was happening in different parts of the hive. If you are looking for a relaxed fun and down to earth bee keeping experience day More Bees Please is the place to go!
Make sure to buy some honey, it is honestly the best I have tasted!

Great local product. My wife just loves a spoonful in her porridge in the morning - particularly the Cinnamon one. First saw them at Nether Edge market but have also bought at Makers Shop at Hunters Bar.
