Great company, good nursery, they do all aspects of landscaping, the guys that do the grass cutting are brilliant:)

A great garden centre. Plenty of fruit trees, flowers, seeds, stones and items to look after your garden. Staff are always friendly and give very helpful advice. Recommend the coffee shop next door too.

I have bought some Loose as Dug Topsoil from the company's website. Price was for 1 cubic meter and there are, according to the information provided on the website, about 2 tons of soil in 1 cubic meter. I was very specific about that. It looked that the price was very good but delivery charge was £50 per every cubic meter;it was ridiculous. There was an option to negotiate delivery charge by phone, and that is what I did. When the topsoil was already in my front yard there was only a half of what I have ordered. Invoice was for 4 tons too. I naively thought that this is just a mistake. I called Mo-Lawn and then I realised that I do business with a company where CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS WRONG. First they told me that I have bought my soil by phone and by phone they sell only tons?! When that did not work, they told me that they need to check something and they will call me back. After some time they did called me back and a man with a very confident tone told me to check their website. There was no cubic meters any more!
Usually one cubic meter of topsoil weights around 1.2-1.4 tons. Wet gravel weights 2 tons per cubic meter. Normally topsoil contains about 10% of gravel. In the soil sold to me it was definitely more than 50% of gravel, that why it is so heavy. Company man tried to persuade me that a screening removes a gravel, but screening is to remove bigger than 20 mm fractions. What I bought is a gravel with some soil and a smell of petrol. And it does look nothing like the soil in the picture on the company's website.

Be very careful if you employ this outfit and make sure all your requirements are down in writing and agreed before committing. Also that your insurance is up to date as some of their practices leave somewhat to be desired. Amateur is a word that could be readily applied.
