A warm welcome from Cat when we arrived set the tone for a wonderful few days at Meikle Westland Farm. This is a place to go to relax and get-away-from-it-all; a lovely farm at the bottom of a winding lane, set in a lush green valley bordering the River Nith. ||The lodge (Glen Roe) was spacious, comfortable, nicely decorated and with everything you need for a comfortable few days in the country. ||The farm makes a great base for exploring the nearby sites, including Dumfries House and, slightly further afield, Culzean Castle. What better way to end the day than by sitting out on the patio in the evening with a glass of chilled white wine, highland cattle in the next field, and the farm’s dalmatians looking for a cuddle and attention!

Myself and 5 friends visited to bring in the New Year and had an absolutely phenomenal time. Lodges are very cosy, and hot tub is a great addition to an already wonderful place to stay.
The real highlight however was the outstanding hospitality we received from the owner. Being greeted by her lovely dogs was a brilliant way to start the stay, and then on New Years Day we were invited to feed the new lambs! The owner was so knowledgable on all of her animals which was fascinating to learn about, and she was happy for us to explore the rest of the farm to meet the rest of her furry friends.
Can't recommend this place enough, will definitely be back!

We spent New Year at Meikle Westland Farm, and I couldn’t be happier with our choice. This hidden gem is perfect for anyone who loves animals and a tranquil escape. The host was incredibly warm and welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable. Despite the snowfall, we made full use of the hot tub and then took advantage of the excellent cooking facilities in the lodge to prepare a delicious dinner for six. The lodge was spacious, well-equipped, and had everything we could possibly need. We’ll definitely be returning!

Stayed at Glen Bay Lodge this month. Greeted on arrival by the gorgeous dogs was fun; a blur of spots and wagging tails. The cabin was lovely, well equipped, spotless and very cosy. Being able open the door and have sheep and shetland ponies right outside was great. Cat was very welcoming and on hand if we needed anything. I'd like to visit again in spring/summer, to enjoy the surroundings during the longer, warmer days. Even on a cold November day, being in the hot tub with sheep in the adjoining paddock and the dogs coming by to say hello was a treat. Overall a wonderful wee place to just switch off and relax.

Cat is lovely, she is extremely welcoming and ensures that you ar e happy and settles. Cat even encourages interaction with the animals, I bottle fed a lamb and it was phenomenal.
The lodges are clean, warm and welcoming. And the bed was so comfy.
This was close enough to home so I don't need to worry but far enough away that I didn't née d to over think about home.

Just home from a fantastic 2 night stay at the Glenroe lodge with friends. The site is easy its find and the lodge was cosy and toasty ready to welcome us on a crisp Friday evening. Cat was so lovely and welcoming alongside her pack of gorgeous, friendly dogs. The lodge itself was so deceiving, inside was so spacious and decorated beautifully. It was spotlessly clean. The two bathrooms were a great addition. The beds are comfy and the linen was super soft. The kitchen was well stocked with all the things you’d need to prepare a meal (with your own ingredients). The dining space was excellent to share a meal with friends. The views were spectacular and the added bonus of the Ewes bleating beside the decking was just magical. The hot tub was filled and heated ready for our arrival and was a relaxing, addition bathing under the stars. On the Saturday, we spent the afternoon with Cat meeting the animals and feeding them treats. The love and care that Cat puts in to her livestock is clear and she is so knowledgeable about all her animals. A few of the local takeaways deliver to the lodges and you can order groceries via the Snappy Shopper app too! This place was beautiful and I would highly recommend everyone comes for even 1 night to experience it for themselves. There are signs about it being a working farm, but you could have heard a pin drop it was so quiet. Thank you Cat for an awesome stay! Can’t wait to visit again soon!

We had a great Easter holiday break here! The lodges are comfortable, and the hot tub was brilliant for rainy days. The kids loved all the animals on the farm especially the friendly dalmatian pack. Cat was friendly and helpful and took us to meet all the animals. We will definitely be back!
